Metallica - Ride the Lightning

Fight Fire with Fire
The intro to is sick and the lyrics are good and such but good grief it sounds like they decided to do make their own parts separately and throw them all together. I imagine this song is good for those who want to mosh but I don’t partake in that activity so this track didn’t really stand out to me. 2/10

Ride the Lightening
Usually when it comes to the track that shares a name with the album I expect the song to be the best track but that unfortunately ... read more

Quarters - Into The Rift

[Let’s make them viral: Week 28]
Near perfect album. The variety in songs meant listening to this didn’t drag, this is the kind of music I’d listen to on a daily basis. ‘T Love’ stood out to me the most, but all tracks were amazing.

[Let’s make them viral: Week 27]
Repetition is a common theme in this album actually which I do appreciate as an artistic expression but (in my opinion anyway) what makes a song good are changes throughout to break up different parts - although the instrumentals were really nice, hearing the same guitar progression and the same melody sung for 4, almost 5 minutes gets tiring. ‘Disappear’ was nice for a bit, it reminded me of an ex-oomf’s music but again, the repetition ... read more

Chikoi The Maid - From The Past to The Future

[LMTV Week 26]
This album was alright I guess… it was really repetitive though, to the point where I had to stop half way through listening and finish it later just so I gave my brain a break. Not the best LMTV pick but also not the worst.

Modern Color - There Goes The Dream

[Lets make them viral: Week 18]
This type of sound is EXACTLY what I’m into. It kinda reminds me of The Night Café, I’m still mourning them so listening to this album was bittersweet. The shoegaze/indie rock/emo vibe Modern Color has going on for them is a really good listen and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’d definitely listen to them outside of LMTV. I’d say my favourite songs from first listen is ‘Dancing Waters Club’ (because of The Night ... read more

Reuben Aziz - how did we end up here?

A wonderful album, I’m looking forward to Reuben Aziz bringing back the UK scene. His lyricism paired with his vocals and instrumentals makes this a 0 skip album in my opinion, and, to me, he stands out from other UK RnB artists. Having discovering him from ‘please don’t run (find you)’ and ‘MAGIC’, I knew he’d be bringing something different to this genre, and he had.
The songs that stood out to me from first listen were ‘day+night’, ... read more

[Let's make them viral: Week 14]

My condolences to anyone who listened to this with headphones on. I imagine it may sound okay if the audio quality was better, but I doubt that would really change my final opinion.
To me, there wasn't anything really interesting about this album. For the most part, every track sounded similar to me. There isn't really much difference between them. Hearing 'Love You So' just gave me war flashbacks of every single TikTok that had this ... read more

[Let’s make them viral: Week 13]

If I had £1 for every album I’ve listened to with a furry on the album cover I’d have £2, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice, right?
All jokes aside, this was an interesting listen to say the least. Some of the songs sound like MCR and hey, nothing had a depressed, loser love child. I’m both impressed and haunted. To be fair, ‘IWBYD II’ does have a good intro. This is the type of music ... read more
