Going in public and screaming "I love little girls and capitalism" so I can find other Oingo Boingo fans ‼️
This is the music they play for the IDF to get them hyped for another day of killing innocent human beings
Prince can make songs that make you want to get up and dance, and songs that will have your jaw on the floor. This is a great example of those 2 ideas converging to make a beautiful record!
I saw this in the IMAX when it re-released. The feeling is ethereal, seeing such legends of our time play in the ruins where so many lives were taken. It's haunting, it's solemn, but there is a stark buauty in it all
200th rating! This is everything a Beatles album should be, a great mix of rockers, soft tracks, and the experimental.
A record that is as powerful as the world it encapsulates and plays as smooth as butter. Marvin Gaye paints the picture of a broken world and preaches the answer loud and clear, love.
Very interesting story! After the Mole trilogy, yeah, this was a much needed cleanser
MGMT's smashing debut takes the concept of pop music and makes it their own, and in turn, a generation has taken 3 of these songs and made them their own. Enough has been said about "Time to Pretend", "Electric Feel", and "Kids", but they are brilliant each in their own right. "Pieces of What" is probably my favorite MGMT song, it has a solemn vibe that feels like someone calling out into the void. It's something you wouldn't expect on a ... read more
I've spent over 3 years (and counting) treasuring and loving Arco Iris, and with an album so great kicking off their 2 (echnically 3) album discography, I was afraid of Morning After Cuts. I was afraid that because of the lineup change and time between albums that this one wouldn't be as good as their first.
Unfortunately, I was right.
Now this album isn't bad by any means. I think all the tracks hold their own weight enough to stick, some more than others. I'd like to ... read more
1967 continues to be the best year in music, and Jimi Hendrix did not disappoint!
A more fun listen than MBDTF, that's for sure. I don't dislike rap/hip-hop and my lower rankings for Kanye's work are not influenced by outside events. I just do not care all that much for a lot of Kanye's work. I've listened to hip-hop/rap projects I loved and Kanye just doesn't do it for me 80% of the time. I appreciate his contributions to the gnre and I will never deny his talent and ability to produce, it's just never been my thing.
OK Go really burst out the gates with this debut release. True it sounds standard for the time, and doesn't do anything groundbreaking for the genre, but it's an above solid effort for the genre that I enjoy most of pretty greatly! The first 4 tracks and the last 2 tracks are pretty great, and the rest are pretty good too...except the obvious worst song on here (Seriously, what the fuck is even C-C-C-Cinnamon Lips??? Turn that shit off immediately) A solid effort and the only Ok Go ... read more
A genuinely incredible record from cover to cover. The flow is great, I find myself entertained by each and every track. This has that signature ELO sound and presents it across over an hour. Some people say that anyone making an album over an hour should have a very good reason for doing so, and Jeff Lynne has a very good reason.
The sludgy counterpart to the album that changed music, and something I do actually prefer to listen to over the status quo. Fans of The Velvet Underground often overlook this abrasive black sheep of the VU family, when in reality it's the pure embodiment of the chaos and rough-around-the-edges nature of what these guys really were like without Warhol. This album is the mainline and each track is infused with heroin, except maybe "Here She Comes Now"
If the track ... read more
