Finding her in a very transitional time of my life, Mitski is one of my favorite singer-songwriters out right now, holding a very near-and-dear place in my heart. It only makes sense that her 2014 indie breakout Bury Me at Makeout Creek is my favorite album of all time.

It’s really hard to talk about what exactly makes this album stick to me so closely, seeing as Mitski’s songwriting is some of the most cryptic and confusing in the realm of indie rock, but also some of its most ... read more

Buck ups the dosage of comfy country-folk tunes with Two Saviors, his second studio album and follow-up to his 2017 self-titled debut.

Two Saviors is an album that is filled to the brim with great songwriting and engaging vocals. Tracks like the lovesick ‘Candle,' co-written with frequent collaborator and Big Thief co-member Adrianne Lenker, and the longful ‘Dream Daughter’ showcase just how strong Buck Meek is as a performer, one that I feel deserves just as much attention ... read more

This is what ppcocaine thinks that she’s doing.

Ashnikko is back with a new mixtape, and it’s… alright. Didn't realize that Kenny Beats was producing this, so hearing his producer tag gave me serious whiplash. Pretty good track overall, the sample and beat are fun and Flo Milli is doing her thing and doing it well.

Did not like the original very much, but I think Doja and Meg add enough to the song to make it an enjoyable little bop. And the little "math class... never was good" at the end still gives me a good giggle.

This album is very wet.

There’s not really much to say about this album. There are quite a few interesting moments on this, but they’re few and far between. After that, Big Thief drummer James Krivchenia’s solo debut is a pretty forgettable muddle of ambient sounds that serve as nice background music, but nothing more.
