All the metalcore clichés are there. Is that a bad thing? It depends on you and your mood. I find it impossible to listen to several metalcore albums in a row. I have to listen to one every two or three months because otherwise they seem like garbage to me due to how repetitive the genre is.
If you have the chance to listen to this, take it. One of the best instrumental albums I've ever heard.
Sometimes the songs are repetitive, but the creativity with which they were composed makes up for it.
I'd never heard Magma before. They're really strange. I'm used to all kinds of music, but I don't think I'd ever heard anything like this, and unfortunately, that stopped me from enjoying the album as much as I would have liked. I think I just didn't get it. I have no frame of reference to compare it to. I realized that with each listen, I liked it more. So I guess it's a matter of listening to more Magma to appreciate them better.
I remember listening to Sexdictator Lucifer when I was 14 and liking it. Now, at 30, I've listened to it again and it sounds like hot trash The rest of the album is fine.
A refreshing new sound that I really needed. They have a thrash sound, but a refined one. Not violent, but elegant. I also hear a lot of Priest influence. Now it's time to listen to one of their non-metal albums.
I wasn't impressed. I found most of the album boring. There are a few good moments, but they're few and far between and don't justify listening to it.
I listened to it on a recommendation. My first impression was negative; I found it boring and repetitive. But the more I listened, the more layers of arrangements in the instrumentation emerged, and the album got better and better with each listen. Excellent voice. Versatile.
A couple of good songs. Nothing stands out, just enjoyable enough. I expected much more. The vocals are awful; I hate that kind of voice. Only a couple of enjoyable riffs.
I've been listening to it lately and I think it's much better than it was years ago when I first heard it.
An adventure through Eastern sounds. The music is easy to listen to. It's simple to get used to the sounds. The guitars are very melodic. I didn't find anything new, but I introduced this album to someone who doesn't listen to metal, and it liked it. Therefore, it's perfect for newbies.
I never imagined I would enjoy an album by a Chinese guy who writes thrash/death/black in Greek so much.
It wasn't a bad album, but I feel like it's missing something. Maybe it's just my mood. I really enjoyed the last album. I just can't seem to connect with this one. I'm not sure why. There are good riffs and drums, and good vocal lines. It's a mystery.
What a disappointment. I read the positive reviews and thought it would be a good album. It isn't. At least not for me. I found it boring, with quite a few quiet and monotonous sections. There are one or two good songs, but they're in the minority.
I've fallen victim to virality. I thoroughly enjoyed Angine. For the first time, I agree that a band can be successful overnight. Excellent musicians.
I have to admit that I enjoyed this more than several Rush albums (a band that Crown shamelessly plagiarizes).
