Maybe its a nostalgia 10 and biased with context of the game as a whole but I'm quite sure this masterpiece played a huge part in forming my taste in music from a young age
I don't really agree at all with the criticisms to this album that the Fender-Rhodes and Steinway don't complement one another well, for me the largely contrasting- still classic keyboard timbres work very well together, with both individual voices feeling more defined, helping to bring out Evan's unique sound and touch on both instruments and often centering him as the focal point within the beds of lush orchestral accompaniment on each track.

Was first introduced to this album through the song Love Was Really Gone, the layered vocals, funk harmony, catchy melodies, keyboard solo and beautiful string outro cemented it as one of my favourite songs at the time.
I could have never imagined that the rest of the album would leave quite the same impact on me. Though the song structure throghout is very similar at points which can come off as formulaic, I think this album is spectacular in so many ways. Each song brings something and stands ... read more
