Baby Keem - Ca$ino

I can’t help but hear Kendrick throughout the album.

I don’t want to hear about the fact they are cousins and so of course he’s gonna take inspiration from him. This is true, but there comes a point where it just starts sounding like a knock off product of the original. Even if certain lyrical content IS good I cannot bring myself to enjoy it as much with the feeling in the back of my mind that the verse could just be mostly written by Kendrick.

I’m also just not a fan ... read more

As someone that lost my best friend last year this album resonates with me on a super deep level and I completely understand the stylistic choices as well as the meaning behind many of Ritchie’s verses. Love it.

Don Toliver - OCTANE

It’s really not bad as an overall album, there’s just not many individual songs I see myself going back to anytime soon.

Never heard Cole more raw than this. FAHHH 🔥

A$AP Rocky - Don't Be Dumb

He still got it. This album is the exact reason I don’t listen to leaks before a release. I’ve seen too many fans feel the album is a disappointment because their favorite songs didn’t make the cut and/or songs sounding different than the leaks. Without being blinded by that you can see this album for how it is and it’s a classic Rocky album.

Not a big fan of the autotune on the intro, kinda ruins the song for me unfortunately but it’s still an okay intro track. ... read more

Last 5 songs are just perfection. Overall IDK’s best project released, and very fitting being he’s retiring soon. Amazing production, hilarious bars, great features. If you can get past the corny bars it’s definitely on par with don’t be dumb as the best albums of the year so far.

Don’t be fooled by a biased music community. It does sonically sound epic and cinematic, but does not come close to finding playability.
If he wants to TRULY expand as an artist and not seem like a culture vulture (like he once was) he needs to realize his faults and make music HE wants to make. Not just something that appeals to the average albumoftheyear user.

IDK - BRAVADO + INTiMO

This BRAVADO + INTiMO truly exceeded expectations for me.

No bad tracks, extremely solid all throughout. I ended up enjoying the non-singles even more on this album. The intro and outro remind me of some vintage J Dilla which felt like a breath of fresh air, great way to give structure to the album along with the steady pacing and smooth transitions. Miles Trumpet is amazing, the chorus puts you in a trance in the best way possible. When lyrics resonate with me it really makes a song that ... read more

"The song Safety is from other peoples perspectives back home while Cole was in New York so it wasn’t Cole himself calling the guy the f slur, more so people from his hometown were and the guy is speaking towards Cole about the situation. The songs a big phone call really."

"@PostWither yea I see where you’re coming from, so I guess I can just agree to disagree on the approach. Just seeing things through different lenses really. Y’all seem like cool people from what I’ve seen anyway. I’ll always respect someone that doesn’t dick ride Quadeca lmao"

"@PostWither The reason I bring up the circumstances is mainly because from our perspective we only know so much about the situation at hand, so I feel like no level of speculation for us can warrant a response as harsh as SZissou’s review. I feel that his opinion on posthumous releases is valid especially if he treats them all like this across the board. And he can just truly dislike the album, that’s fine. But making up hypotheticals about the situation to fit the narrative he has is extreme. But to each their own."

"@SZissou Aye as long as you treat most posthumous releases like this then it’s a fair opinion. The “dead legends like action figures in a shitty blockbuster film” is just a weirdly extreme fantasy to make up considering you have no idea of the circumstances in which these features came about. Gross."

"Dawg he’s had collages with MF DOOM and DMX since they were alive. These aren’t some Frankensteined recordings that he didn’t have consent to use. Just cause he’s not a huge artist doesn’t mean he can’t make music anymore with artists that have passed away. Just a totally ignorant review."

"I’m not a big abstract hip hop guy either but I love the haunted atmosphere of the whole album, it’s addictive. It feels like a movie in album form. Yea I’m not gonna bump this in the whip with friends, but it’s a fun listen on its own."
