I have too many albums I rather talk about that I need to write reviews for, so ~SPOILER ALERT~ I’ll give my thoughts on this record when I write my Worst List this year
@RenIsNowNas well you’re likely gonna be disappointed cus he’s barely on the album. 1/4 of the tracks he isn’t featured at all and many of the tracks he is barely on. “Hours In Silence” is a near seven minute Drake song with less than 40 second of Savage and there’s almost ten minutes towards the end where you don’t hear him at all. He does solid enough when he’s there but this record features so little of him that it’s easy to forget he’s even there half the time
@UltimateLifeForm exactly this on both points. I’ve enjoyed 21’s music a lot in the past and he was like the one good thing about “Honestly, Nevermind”, but he really doesn’t have a chance to make good use of his time because it’s mostly a Drake album
As pissed as I was about Drake, I thought the 21 Savage parts were more tolerable. It's such a shame because he deserves more time to shine. My assumption is that Drake was gonna make another simple mixtape, but then saw the numbers for "Jimmy Cooks". So naturally, he calls up 21 to do some tracks. That's the other part about this LP; false advertising. This is just a Drake mixtape feat. 21 Savage. An absolute waste of talent.
