"Der Lange Marsch" is a summary of everything Gas has done during the last 3 decades as a composer. All the songs contain samples of his previous records and despite I initially though all his albums sounded the same, I immediately recognized all the samples. The music is vaporous, elusive and repetitive, as a result the album is not that memorable in the long run.
Highlights: "Der Lange Marsch 1", "Der Lange Marsch 7", "Der Lange Marsch 11"
If you want to release 4 records in a week, they must be flawless. I have listened 33 tracks in the row, I simply don't have the patience to listen another album and this one is easily the weakest of the 4. It is very calm, and after the slow "kick iii" I expected something more energetic. Half of the songs are just dull.
"kick iiii" contains repetitive, slow paced songs, but it doesn't differ much from the "KICK ii" and "KicKiii". It is just full of disjointed sounds, that fail to make an impression and leave something to be desired. The record is oversaturated and exhausting, still "Paw", is the best of her new songs.
Highlights: "Boquifloja" ," Lost Woman Found", "Paw"
"KicK iii" sounds like a bridge between Arca's early experimental/ alien sounded albums and her latest avant-pop works. The album is often beat-free, it is like a collage of distorted, abstract sounds, but It is sonically powerful and chaotic. I still think that some of the songs in the middle section of the album are too short or not fully fleshed out.
