This is the worst album by The Beatles. Why? Because less than half songs here have involvement from these boys. So context is needed. When The Beatles gain more and more attention in US, they have signed to make 3 movies and soundtracks distrubited by United Artist. "A Hard Day's Night" and "Help!" were 2/3 of this deal. "Magical Mystery Tour" doesn't counts, because film was self released by The Beatles. So they needed to make soundtrack. They made only 4 original songs for it. Of course at that time they were working on many things (more about this on "White Album" review), but they really didn't care. Beside new songs there are 2 previously released songs as singles and on albums. Rest of songs is made by their producer - George Martin. These songs by him are okay orchestral pieces. The Beatles songs here sounds most of them like throw aways, beside "Hey Bulldog" and singles. Also this soundtrack doesn't stand on it own like their previous. Overall, this is mid and also misleading.
