New music and upcoming film from the one and only Donald Glover himself, so I believe he decided to kill two birds with one stone and create an album/soundtrack maybe to bring publicity. Childish Gambino’s Bando Stone and the New World.
Well we’ve reached the send off for Childish Gambino as Donald Glover will from here on be going by his real name. Dropping the persona, removing the act and giving 100% of himself. Lots of twists and turns moving through this album with some ... read more
The versatility is there and I love to see it but I still need to adjust as I'm more acquired to their metal sound. PetroDragonic is still on repeat.
We finally get another drop from Florida’s favorite. Denzel Curry is back and has returned with a 15 track LP titled King Of The Mischievous South 2, which is a sequel to a mixtape he released back in 2012. As I listened through the album I notice this is more of a party styled/head bobbing approach as he lets the energy and flows and features take the high road instead of letting his lyrics be the selling point. Jumping straight into the first track we get ultra SHXT. Which off rip feels ... read more
I find more appeal in the rhythmic drum patterns rather than the vocal performances and lyrics. A little too much ruckus going on in the vocals between both the features and Gambino himself. I do gravitate more towards the choppy/glitchy production going on in the back, toward the end the harmonizing vocals did the song some justice but overall the songs feels like a bit of a blur.
This friday's top dog album goes to the one and only Clairo. I can say with certainty that this album is complemented with lush, optimistic, and soft tone features. This is THE feel good album of 2024 that makes you want to go out in the sun and touch grass. We've waited about 3 years to see the release of Charm prior to her last drop Sling which is also a notable LP that deserves it's recognition. Clairo brings us her Junior record which feels short and to the point considering ... read more
The return of Slim Shady isn't as well thought out or as genuine as Eminem wanted it to seem. 20% of this LP is filled with oversaturated chopped up lyricism and the other 80% is filled with the most unprecedented and cringeworthy lines one can muster. Em's goal has been clear since the release of this albums first single 'Houdini', regain his slim shady roots and make cancel culture "sUpa aNGwY". Eminem's pure downfall of this album is trying too hard to show ... read more
A completely out of proportion jazz-rock massacre that leaves you with a rush. From the instrumentals down to the lyrics it's all so bold and refreshing, I'm in love with this album. The crashing instruments and gasping/showman-like vocals are what make this a magical experience more than anything.
Favorites: All songs
Least Favorite: Half Time obviously
Hate him or love him, Teezo is keeping creativity in music alive.
Super dated sound but who cares, it's got head bangers. Definitely needs a break from all the hate.
This is officially my 100th REVIEW!!!! and for that I wanna make sure it's a special one. So here's my take on the new Camila Cabello record.

I swear I drove myself crazy trying to make myself feel more for this album than actually possible. The problem is painfully in your face due to it's lack of energy, every song (at least in the first half) feels like an unfinished idea. So much potential once the track starts and funky bass starts to kick in, but then it just keeps a dormant pace and falls flat after the first minute. It's like they start up the idea then move to the next one halfway through. I tried to give this LP ... read more
As on brand as you'd expect from Boldy. Not much else needs to be said.
Favorites: Terms and Conditions, All Madden, Flying Trapeze Act, Undisputed, Lamp Shade, St. Juliana, Stamp in the Middle
Least Favorite: The Ol Switcharoo
Coming from someone who hasn't enjoyed Donald Glover's music in a while, I enjoyed this for the most part. Instrumental might be a bit oversaturated considering this song doesn't have the strongest chorus/lyrical front, but the build up leading to the sweet stringy release is enough to get me feeling the energy he wanted to get across. Not a bad vocal performance as expected from the guy who made Awaken My Love. The background vocals also serve the song well. Idk who Cody LaRae ... read more
Getting Niki Yang (BMO) is the biggest flex of 2024. Extra points for nostalgia.
A very mixed bag when it comes to production and lyrical content but nonetheless I'm impressed. Something about the clunky sound of everything makes this worth the listen. Not to mention Nai Palm is a remarkably underrated vocalist, makes each track pop and flow smooth like butter. Lots of grand production especially on the intro Dreamboat which deserves more love in my opinion. Maybe it's not the most ... read more
listen to "Peach, Plum, Pear" then "I am Free" from Amazing World of Gumball and tell me they don't sound similar!
This right here is a nonstop tearjerker. Joanna's Voice is so soothing while the string instrumentation is soft and dreamlike. Her lyricism is on another tier I gotta be honest, crazy how every Joanna from Newsom to Sternberg to Wang are all great artists. Something about Joannas.
The meaning and creation story behind this album alone is worthy of a high score.
OH YEAAA LUPE FIASCOED ALL OVER THE PLACE WITH THIS ONE! Not his most introspective but definitely holds lots of weight as expected from someone of his stature. Samurai being his shortest album definitely holds it back from being pushed as a perfect project altogether but still it's nothing short of refreshing and outstanding as each there are no BAD tracks. Everything comes together concise and cohesive. No songs out of place, just poetry in it's purest form. Also want to mention ... read more
Gotta thank Pink Floyd for that banger intro inspiration! I know it's been a year but I had to give Yachty his flowers for switching up the sound and realizing his potential is much more than being "the average rapper". Let this serve as an example to future and even current rap artists who enclose themselves to the common oversaturated style. You can be so much more if you just go out your way and take the leap.
