Mac Miller blesses the horrible year of 2020 with his best album, all while being passed away.
I’ve been a fan of Mac for a while, around 2016 I discovered him through his collaborations//relationship with Ariana Grande, leading me to discover my (former) favorite album of his, The Divine Feminine.
This album features a way different path than I initially thought Mac would follow, void of many raps but replaced with everything from synths to the looming neo-soul feel. It’s the goal for every posthumously released album, that only a few have achieved.
Everything from the amazing title track to the heartbreaking Good News and Hand Me Downs, to the spacey Blue World is truly a great album. This was a but higher for me when it came out, but although the score went down I still appreciate this album so much.
It’s a very haunting experience, very hard to pick favorites and least favorites. Just like a song on here “Complicated” shows everything about this album, it’s very hard to rate and judge.
But I do truly love this album. Rest In Peace Mac, we’ll miss you
Best Songs - Circles, Surf, Hand Me Downs, Blue World, Good News
Worst Songs - I can’t pick, but there are like 2 that don’t really live up to the rest.
