Everything Everything - Re-Animator

The only album by Everything Everything I had heard before this one was their 2015 album “Get To Heaven, which was one of the best albums of the last decade in my opinion.” This one isn’t as good as that album, but it’s still a really great album. The synth-heavy electronic rock style they used on this album was executed really well and I like how it’s stripped-back and rhythmic but still really bright and infectious. I also really like Jonathan Higgs’ vocals on this, which for some reason reminded me a lot of Sam Smith with the really falsetto-heavy singing style but with FAR stronger production. It’s definitely less consistent and not as well-written as “Get To Heaven” was, (although the songwriting on this album is extremely strong) but it’s still a very energetic, ethereal, grand, and enjoyable album from a talented group that I don’t even really have that much experience listening to.
