The first 2021 album I am reviewing is this Morgan Wallen album. I think it's pretty good. But oh my lord, IT WAS 30 TRACKS! I literally listened to "Super Gar-Gar World" and this in the same week. Two of the longest records I've ever heard. Despite the length of it, I found a lot of quality in it. There are no bad songs which I'm happy about. The closest has to be "Livin’ the Dream", Need a Boat", and the lyrics on "Your Bartender" with those first two being just boring. I personally think the production is my favorite part of this. Almost every track has really good legit country production. There are a few trap elements on a few but it's a short amount. Plus, I like the man's voice. It just comes down to if I enjoy the lyrics or not. This is the type of album I expect to hear at future parties once the pandemic ends. Songs like "7 Summers", "Beer Don't", and "More Than My Hometown" are such a vibe. But man, this guy is very good at ballads. "This Bar", "Cover Me Up", and "Only Thing That’s Gone" show true emotion vocally and production wise. I'd love to hear more of those type of tracks.
This album is likely to get played to death by my family but at least I heard it the day it came out. It's a pretty good, consistent, but too lengthy of a project from Wallen. Curious to see where he will go after this though. Also, Side A > Side B
