Sublime - Sublime
90

Fun, charismatic, and witty lyricism combined with equally charming instrumentals that make this a record I come back to regularly. It does feel a bit bloated in the second half, though.

Swans - Soundtracks for the Blind
80

This record is so confusing but I like it for the most part. It's honestly hard to call this album "bloated" because of how all over the place it is.

Radiohead - The Bends
80

It's definitely aged, but I do think the individual songs tell some very sincere perspectives on the band's views on society and their popularity. There are, however, still hints of "Pablo Honey" on this record that make some parts feel a bit cringey.

Jeff Buckley - Grace
80

I like the unconventional structuring of the songs, but I do find some of the themes discussed to be a bit cliche.

Weezer - Weezer (Blue Album)
90

Yeah, it's incel-core, but it's done right. There's just the right amount of nerdiness and creative storytelling within each track that I find even the somewhat mysogynistic themes to be useful in the development of the character (or characters?) sung about on this record.

Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral
100

The depravity is so in your face but in the best way possible. The way this album progresses with its loud instrumentals and eerie noises also adds a lot to the storytelling.

Green Day - Dookie
80

Fun and rebellious. The overly punk attitude on this record adds a level of comic and whimsy that I think Green Day lost overtime.

Nirvana - In Utero
90

This record is so raw and primal that it's hard to leave the listen without any feelings of dismay or angst. I think the production can get the best of it sometimes.

Radiohead - Pablo Honey
40

The biggest offense of this record is that it's mostly boring and generic. There are definitely some cringe moments but it's not the most overbearing thing ever. Creep still slaps though.

100

Every song is a banger.

Depeche Mode - Violator
90

Excellently executed darkwave with some of the most sticky synthpop ever made.

They Might Be Giants - Lincoln
90

So fun, creative, and silly, yet can be very thought-provoking at times. Just good vibes all around.

Kate Bush - Hounds of Love
90

Very creative storytelling paired with excellent vocals.

Prince and The Revolution - Purple Rain
100

The most out-there and exciting pop you will ever hear from the 80s.

The Clash - London Calling
100

The fact that a record can run this long and not feel overbearing or boring in the slightest is incredible.

Yes - Close to the Edge
80

Consistent and fun.

Fleetwood Mac - Fleetwood Mac
80

Very well produced and written. In comparison to "Rumors", there are some more noticeable dry spots in the second half of the record.

David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars
100

The layers to the storytelling on this record is mind-blowing. Of course only Bowie could make an album about an extraterrestrial rockstar, but also there's a lot of truths revealed about Bowie himself and his impact on his fans that I don't believe many people pick up on their first few listens. Not to mention "Rock 'n' Roll Suicide" might be the best closer to an album ever.

Pink Floyd - Animals
90

Idc the riffs on this record go hard. "Sheep" might just be Pink Floyd's most epic song ever.

Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
90

Mainstream folk-rock doesn't sound like something that would be appealing, but this record is completely timeless. The production is so crisp, and the instrumentation/singing is still incredible by today's standards.
