Interesting first impression.
Nothing excites me more than hearing a tension-building, 5-min angst song with big blowout finish for the first time - I can literally remember where I was on the days my virgin ears heard I Know The End, Happier Than Ever and Concorde for the first time. Honestly, imo, this category of songs is supreme, but we digress...
Anyway, after fully preparing to lose my fucking shit as the beat and O-Rods screams dragged me to the climax... my shit stayed exactly where ... read more
I appreciate she's committing to the bit.
It's rare now you have a main pop girly change direction like this, especially after a hit as seminal as brat. It makes sense that Charli has the balls to do it.
Despite unpopular opinion, I really like Rock Music. I think it's a fun intro to this new era and has quirk and character. Continuing with SS26, there are some aspects I really like - I'm talking concept, chorus melody (catch af), instrumentation - but I'm feeling ... read more
Virgin's more fun, sapphic little sister.
I'm glad that Muna are still doing their, now synonymous, 80s-inspired dance-pop - it's a comfortable zone for them but they're good at it, it's still fun and it does the job. However, Dancing On The Wall is really at its best in its more progressive glitchy pop moments. I'm happy they pushed into some more experimental/instrumental spaces.
Ultimate fave - It Gets So Hot

I love this album. It makes me feel like everything in the world is either dumb or pointless but there is also, annoyingly, the tiniest bit of beauty which makes it all kind of worth it? God love her

This kind of album never happens
All-timer, to the grave
The Walls Are Way Too Thin one of the best pop songs of the decade. Should be >90
Robyn is our mother of devastating pop bangers. She's a lyrical and musical genius with a talent for boiling complicated feelings down into painfully simple words and casting them in euphoric synth-pop bang-ang-angers. Her alchemy is unmatched.
Sexistential is a different kind of alchemy. Genuinely, you can tell she's not writing from the same place. She's writing from a place of joy and interest in human connection, in this day and age at this point in her life. The songs still ... read more
People on here literally need to go out, wear something nice and get tf LAID! Sexistential is a freakin' bop and anyone trying to convince me otherwise either hates any form of progressive pop music or just plain hates women - in both cases, your opinion sucks.
This project so far grows and grows and grows. Combined with Dopamine, we already have classic Robynian laaaayers forming, each displaying a different edge to Robyn's sexuality as a mid-40s single mum.
and PUSH - lfg!
Flop era? Flip it around - Midnight Sun!
Zara Larson be shakin' her ass in the payoff of this album and campaign turn-around. Sure, I think marketing and virality have overshadowed the music just a tad, but the music is FUN. Midnight Sun is the obvious standout track here with its cutesy, tongue-in-cheek lyrics, cathartic power vocals and roller-coaster of hyperpop instrumentals cementing it as one of the best pop songs of 2025.
The rest of the album has ups and mids, with the ups not ... read more
