Horsepower Productions - Quest For The Sonic Bounty

Pretty good honestly. The highlight is definitely "Poison Wine" but "Rain" and "Mexican Slayride" also go really hard. Pretty innovative combination of very old skool dubstep mixed with sort of future garage style stuff you'd see from Burial and the like, as well as just some overall very futuristic and unique sounds.

Squackett - A Life Within a Day

CRAZY how nobody's rated this gem yet. Such an underlistened to master piece.

35007 - Liquid

I cannot begin to describe how well this album goes when you're just cresting the peak of a 4 hour edible high.

Ahkmed - In Your Neck Of The Dying Woods

Ok sure I'll be the first guy to review it. While I don't think it's *amazing,* I do think it's very well done and somehow, of all albums out there, it's kinda what got me into space rock. There are definitely better Space Rock albums out there, but this one is just so special to me because it was the first I listened to. Obviously T=0 is the best song on the record by far, but I also would not discount the other three. I especially enjoy the set-up and journey that ... read more

I fucking hate that I was one of those guys who didnt bother to expand my horizons in high school. This single record would've saved me in so many ways had I listened to it when I was 14 instead of Sabaton.

Fugazi - 13 Songs

I just love this. Every track is recorded so well and I love the lyrics, even if they differ a TON in their themes and messaging. Like waiting room is pretty simplistic but then you get more complicated stuff like margin walker or give me the cure. It's just such a good album.

Xploding Plastix - Amateur Girlfriends Go Proskirt Agents

Good, but I think a lot of the songs feel like filler. Really the highlights are Sports, Treat Me Mean, Tinntinnamputation, and Having Smarter Babies. Everything else is a bit more chill DNB than the Nu-Jazz it's trying to be.

Porcupine Tree - Fear of a Blank Planet

Holy shit I cannot stop listening to this. Everything about it is just so well done. I know a lot of people call the lyrics "cringe" and yes I can see that, but I also really think it works well for the theme of the album.

Elder - Reflections of a Floating World

I don't think I particularly enjoy the lyrics but I can really see why these guys are opening for TOOL. Such incredible and interesting instrumentation.

Tangerine Dream - Rubycon

Sometimes I meet people who are like "man I hate ambient music it's so boring and repetitive."

Like yeah, dawg. It is. And it's amazing.

Scann-Tec - Unyt

It's such a unique take on ambient genre that isn't often seen apart from small snippets in otherwise bright music.

Horsepower Productions - In Fine Style

Kinda shocked by that other review to be honest. I can get disliking it but a zero??

Anyway I figured it was interested towards the front end but towards the back half it did get a little repetitive, but I mean... that's kinda what you gotta expect when listening to pre-2011 dubstep like this. It's dance music, it's meant to be repetitive.
