Alter Ego has two big issues, the first is that most of the features feel completely disconnected from the songs they are on. The features in Born Again are wonderful, they constantly bounce off one another and it just comes together really well in what ends up being kind of a masterclass in how to do features, even though Doja Cat does kinda suck the life out of that song.
On every other song, other than maybe Rapunzel, the atmosphere completely changes when it's the feature's turn, ... read more
I don't really like dunking on artists whose only crime is making music I don't like, which is why I feel kinda bad in saying that this is probably the best song I've heard from her.
TV Girl are like Midas, but instead of turning into gold everything they touch becomes a 6/10
I like this album pretty much as much as I liked his last one. Michael's voice is as angelic as ever and while the production and instrumentation aren't as good as Love & Hate they are still doing a great job at making me vibe.
No real duds, but I don't see myself returning to this album, even though I did enjoy it.
Really great album, I wish more people here listened to it because this is not the type of album that deserves only 50 ratings
Honestly no shade to Nile that paycheck was probably insane but dude the CIA would rather fund a boyband than do anything to advance a ceasefire.
Chelsea is an artist I've only discovered this year with She Reaches Out To She, but by the end of the year she has become one of my favorite artists as of late.
She has an amazing voice and the minimalist instrumentation work really well on some of the songs like Place In The Sun and Whispers In The Echo Chamber but the unbound version of Dusk just doesn't work for me because the original is actually a pretty maximalist song, and the production was a big part of what made it so good ... read more
I am a Dark Souls 2 apologist. It is not an "objectively" good game, but I love it.
The soundtrack is very good though not nearly as good as other fromsoft soundtracks.
I am not willing to die on the "Dark Souls 2 is good" hill, nor the "Dark Souls 2 has one of the best soundtracks" hill, BUT the Majula OST is perhaps the best track in any Souls game, and I am more than willing to die on that hill.
The rest of the soundtrack is pretty good.
One of the best songs of all time yet it's probably not even a top 5 Cure song for me
Ever since this album came out I've been debating on where to even start with this review, I feel like I have a lot to say about it but at the same time the only thing I can say is that the album is just fantastic.
Amazing vocals and production, really interesting writing, and it's honestly kinda flawless.
This album also made me appreciate Matt a lot more as a bassist, the bass here sounds incredible.
I know I'm gonna sound hyperbolic but I wish this album was a little longer. ... read more
The other day I saw a tweet that said pop music is dead and has no drive anymore and used Espreso as an example. Even though I thought it was probably bait considering we are living in a world where the two biggest pop stars atm are Chappell and Charli, I kinda agreed with the point of that tweet considering Sabrina was outperforming pretty much every other pop star in the world with both Espresso (which I thought was FINE) and Please Please Please (which I just don't like).
Obviously pop ... read more
Happy 30th to one of the best sounding pieces of music ever recorded.
This album means a lot to me and it's nice to see so many people sharing their love for this wonderful piece of art.
Also why is It's A Fire not listed on the track list here? That song is incredible
The fact that the only negative thing I can say about this EP is that I wish it was longer should tell you how good it is
Whenever Gizzard announce an album it becomes my most anticipated album of the year because you never know what you're gonna get.
I love how much fun they seem to be having with this, and that energy is really contagious, I couldn't help but have a dumb smile on my face while listening.
I've recently been listening to a lot of the King Gizzard albums that I've missed or haven't listened to in a while and it's incredible to see how much they've evolved not ... read more
