Update: It's been a few weeks and I re-listened to "Hey Bulldog" and yeah it still reminds me of Led Zeppelin's "Misty Mountain Hop."
Update 2: It's been like two months and I'm trying to discern if "Hey Bulldog" still reminds me of "Misty Mountain Hop" this fine Tuesday evening after a long day.
"Yellow Submarine" is the soundtrack album for their 1968 film of the same name, with Side A including various compositions from The Beatles and Side B comprising of orchestral songs from producer George Martin. Apparently the recording of this album was a contractual obligation for The Beatles rather than a passion project, and it kind of shows unfortunately. That being said, it has some notable moments. George Harrison's "It's All Too Much" is a fun song, with groovy rhythms created from guitar feedback. "Hey Bulldog" is also interesting, with its "Misty Mountain Hop" vibes.
