"I love this theory, one thing I was thinking about is that prayer is slayyyter (at least the character in this album) dies "It is by dying that one awakens to eternal life" with eternal life = stardom/fame, always being remembered because of your art, and Brittany Murphy is like her testament/suicide note with all the lyrics alluding to a funeral and how she would like to be remembered"
"@Papadoor and personally I think that Soundwise preachers daughter has better moments (but I do think that the overall sound of this album is slightly more consistently better)"
"@Papadoor I see that you haven't listened to preachers daughter, I feel like personally that it puts a lot of things in perspective as this is a prologue to the story in that album"
"You are of course entitled to your own opinion but I don't think this album is corny. I think that there is a lot to learn from fictive pieces of media (as they are often still based on the real world, the character ethel cain being kind of an alternate reality of herself) and also lots to enjoy (I really like the way this album sounds and the soundwriting)!"
"Isn't fuck me eyes written from ethels perspective? I think she's insecure about whether or not she will be able to keep willoughby or not and fears that there are women more desirable to willoughby than herself (i.e. the person she sings about)"
"GMT +1 is only an hour earlier than me so that's nice, when does the first challenge start cuz I have to travel 3 hours without internet somewhere this evening"
