edit 3: its been three weeks ish and i have listened to this album every day since release some times multiple times a day and man this just gets even better and better. I truly believe this album is one of the best this decade and i'm so excited for the future of black MIDI, these guys just have it and they are barely out of their teens. it is fucking mindblowing. Just that kinda band that comes around every so often and its such a joy

edit: a whole day has passed and i feel somewhat ready to collect some thoughts and try and make some sense of this.
*deep breath* ok here we go

Music is what helps me make sense of the world and my feelings.
It helps me get through life and for as long as i can remember it has been my biggest passion and love in life.

And some times bands and or albums come along where i am completely on the same wavelength from the first milisecond starts. It only comes every so often, but when it does there's nothing like it.

Schlagenheim is one of those cases, my. fucking. god.
From the moment the assault of 953 starts i just knew that this was something really really really special. Boy was i not only right, but i was completely goddamn mindfucked how good it was. It wasn't just my kinda mathy noise rock, it was a beast unleashed that once youve listened to it once there’s no way back and everything is changed forever

The noise, the guitars, the bass, the vocals, the GODDAMN DRUMS
it all blends together in a beautiful cacophony of math rock, industrial, noise, proto-punk, krautrock, post rock and you name it, naming bands and genres feels pointless cause this doesnt sound or feel like anyone else.

What these british 18-20 year olds (I KNOW RIGHT) have managed is nothing short of a musical fucking miracle. I can't wait to hear more from Black Midi and i hope this is only the beginning of many amazing albums
