Words really can't describe the dreamlike quality of this album. Easily one of the greatest albums every made; It seems like every song invokes a unique feeling of sadness and melancholy in me that I can find in very few albums. From the blast of sound in Plainsong to the feeling of drifting away in Untitled, it's just perfect.
Aside from that, I'd take most tracks on The Blueprint or The Black Album before pretty much any on here. There are some great ones like A Dream, Diamonds is Forever, Some How Some Way, and Meet the Parents; but again none of them really hit the same highs as pretty much every album of his prior.
At first I didn't care for it. Then I found it just ok. Then as I was finally getting into The Strokes, I liked it enough but preferred their other albums. Then listen after listen after listen, the tracks I didn't care for as much just kept getting smaller and smaller. For awhile I considered it near perfect but finally, "Alone, Together" clicked with me.
