Listening to a new album every day - Day 4 - Boards of Canada - Inferno
I don't really want to write a proper review for this because I don't feel qualified to describe this music and dissect it to its fullest. This is my first time listening to Boards of Canada, and this might be the weirdest album I have ever listened to in my life... yet it somehow pieces together so nicely to where it's hard to critique it. Definitely an album worth listening to, as it is an experience so ... read more

However, I do quite like when the album tones it down and focuses more primarily on the vocals, while still keeping the instrumentals fresh. Other than that ... read more
I will admit, I did kind of turn a blind eye to this album. While yes, nothing particularly interesting or for the books comes with this record, I definitely had that hating bone in my body for Ye's work in recent years, which is completely valid. I went into this looking for growth from Kanye, but never delved too deep into the backbone of what holds this album together. Unfortunately my main problem with this album is that it feels too derivative, taking inspirations from his old sounds ... read more
