This is good, but kind of... cringe. And no, it's not about all the straight cis male criticism which I have no problems with, it's just her voice and her lyrics and I don't know, it's just, kind of annoying, it's still a good project though. Good ideas and catchy songs that sometimes just fall flat because of the vocal delivery and mediocre lyricism. The highlights are very high but the rest it's just okay.
This gives me big 2007 internet culture vibes or nostalgia. This album is amazing, the first amazing one of the year. Weird experimental bangers are what keeps me going atm.
EDIT: Well, this review didn't age well... It just made me realize that most of the songs sound the same but the creativity levels are still on point tbh,
I can see this person is fan of early Gorillaz, with that Latin Simone reference, the last song's melody and the "moving on" from the last part of the same last song is obviously the same ones from Kid Koala and Gorillaz' song called "Routine". This is a good effort but it just sounds to me like it tries hard to sound emotional, experimental and explosive, like, I feel the emotion and this and that but it just comes out lifeless and bland. Bland pop punk, I thought it was just catchy but no, it's annoying and cliché.
"It's called the american dream cos' you have to be asleep to believe it"
AMAZING EP by my man, Fletcher Shears. This has one of the best, most "appealing"? songs of the year, and it came out a day ago, what a way to end 2020, anyways, please stream, thank you.
"IMAGINATION"
Sorprendentemente demasiado bueno. Synthpop, indie pop, noise pop, genial.
Interesting and weirdly appealing ideas in this album buuuuuuut the production and song writing is bland and kind of boring. There are some bangers in here but most of the songs are just meh.
Ok, this wasn't bad but please remember that Mario Judah did it better.
I don't know who Crazy 8 is, are they even real? lmao I love this song.
Ok, this album is beautiful. Joji really has done his best with this one in comparison to BALLADS 1, more emotion, better production, better singing, less cringey lyrics, to be honest, this album is like a guilty pleasure a little bit but whatever, screw it, I really like this, this is the type of songs that I always wanted from Joji and I got that, I really hope that Joji just keeps moving forward and maybe change the topic this time haha... i'mnotjoking.
WELL ANYWAY, good record, that's ... read more
