Oh this shit is terrible. It’s just really bad. It’s a 25 minute long whining session. He whines about Eminem, he whines about how people hate him. On the last track, he says he wishes he would’ve died instead of Nipsey Hussle, which is just a disgusting thing to say. The lyrics are stupid, I don’t think anything he said makes a lot of sense. He just says stuff that sounds cool or conscience, but it’s just verbal filler. The beats are mixed like total shit and ... read more

I have so little to say about this album. It’s short, all the instrumentals sound the same, the lyrics are nice, but everything feels rushed. I might revisit this again later and give it a new score or tracklist ranking, because honestly, it was hard for me to pay attention to this. It’s like background noise, not actual music. Again, expect this review to change, but in the meantime, I think I’m fine giving it a mediocre rating.

I wasn’t really looking forward to 070 Shake’s commercial debut, but I was curious what she would do. I thought she’d play it safe and make some drab R&B. Instead, she made a synth-heavy futuristic album with elements of drone, ambient, rap, and dance. It’s a really well-done album, focusing more on production and effects than vocals themselves. The vocals and lyrics are still very well executed, but not the main focus. It can be a little bit too mellow on some ... read more

I’ve never been a huge fan of Eminem. Even his earlier stuff, which everyone seems to go crazy for, I’m kinda indifferent towards. Something I really can’t stand in music is overly-edgy, unsubtle lyrics, which Em has always had a problem with. Even on this album, I feel like songs like “Stepdad” feed into the stereotypical Eminem crowd so heavily. The beats are great sometimes (You Gon’ Learn, In Too Deep, The Intro), but other times, it’s just ... read more

I’m glad Denzel didn’t totally abandon his earlier, more underground sound. I think barely mixing it was a step too far, but the style is exactly what I wanted. This EP mixes the styles of Imperial, 13, and Nostalgic 64 very well. The only problems I can find are some mediocre instrumentals (Gogeta, No Pen), subpar writing (on the latter track), and an overall lack of content. But still, it’s massively enjoyable, really close to a 75, but just not good enough for me.
