The illustrious nature of Lamar's previous records fails to shine through in this experimental but lackluster album. Put simply, this album is "Not Like Us." Us intellectuals have come to except a certain level of storytelling and creativity from Lamar's records, whether that be through the jazz instrumentals of "To Pimp a Butterfly," or the immersion and perspective shown in "good kid, m.A.A.d city."
