Reverend Kristin Michael Hayter - SAVED!
100
Sigh, writing this once again.

SAVED! is the first album by Reverend Kirsten Michael Hayter. Known more as Lingua Ignota. This was my most hyped release of the last couple weeks when I knew of its existence. It's just as heartbreaking as her previous music.

I like to keep more private about things. I wish I had done more so in the past but whatever. Her past work always resonated with me, as a victim of abuse, multiple times. The first such occasion being at age 6 at a "church". I ... read more

Jvne's comments on these songs (taken from an archive)

dissociating: - "I started making this track around may, at first the idea I had in mind was to make a slow breakbeat track that mixed feelings of despair & release. I really wanted to make something like that because of how much [my girlfriend and I would] listen to George Clanton’s “Livin Loose” while driving around Sydney singing along. Mitski - The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We

Mitski is one of my favorite solo artists ever. She is also one of the best lyricists I know, writing songs about the racism she's faced as a Japanese American, mental illness, trauma and isolation. She effortlessly switches genres as well, seamlessly going from chamber pop, to indie rock/noise rock and back to pop.

Listening to a Mitski song is like being comforted. But at points they are not easy to listen to. Whether it be the screaming at the end of "Drunk Walk Home", the ... read more

AJR - God is Really Real

It's probably their best song yet, sweet (but kind of over the top?) instrumental with pretty good lyrics about loss and grief. Well done, AJR, I'm impressed.

They say the fuck word in this one too, was kind of out of place imo. Probably because they dont really use harsh language in their music often.

Sewerslvt - we had good times together, don't forget that

WARNING, TW For the following topics: Depression, Suicide, Eating disorders, etc. if your going through a rough patch in life or aren't doing the best mentally, it would be best if you read this when you are doing better.

Sewerslvt is an artist that I feel defies description. I feel like if you took pure, raw emotion and translated it to sound, it would sound like this. The amount of dread that comes from her work is insane. This one I feel is the hardest to listen to because of the subject ... read more

I consider these to be the best album/EP covers. Maybe I'll throw in a single or two. If you want to add a cover to this, please leave a comment. I'll check frequently.
