Tbh I’m kinda speechless. I had a crazy ascension with this album last night that was reminiscent of my first true appreciation of To Be Kind. I can’t really put words together right now. This album is one that I feel like won’t ever truly click until you understand why it is that the vocals are mixed so low. That was the key for me. Understanding why this was a choice revealed so much about this album and it’s two sides.
Again I’m just forcing words together. I have none, this album is another larger than life album that took too long to just snap my brain in half. A brilliant and one of a kind experience
The only way to truly experience this is with no distractions in my opinion. In other words we have a masterpiece boys. One that reminds me heavily of what I love about Swans

The tone, production, are lyrics are all dark, cryptic, and sad — similar to depression. In that sense, drowning the vocals creates a sensation of the same drowning feeling many people experience during possession. A feeling of being alone, of not being heard.
