This album is beyond tragic. I went in not knowing what I was getting into, and wow this project is sad.
Every note, every space, every vocal is just strained and in pain. The only criticism I have to this project is it's so sad and in despair that I barely know what to do with it. It's so much for every track. I lost focus by the end due to how relentless this thing was.
Every song feels ambitious, well placed, and complete in its own way. It is a gorgeous listen that should not be written off as "everyone else likes it so it must be overrated". This album could be making history

Ehhhhh I mean the flow of this album is Incredible. It feels like absolute magic with the last 3 tracks. This album is pretty insane. I take back what I said about this being kinda over dramatic. It’s the right amount of dramatic. Really amazing stuff. Super consistent

Yeah maybe the wording isn’t the best. I thought it felt a little too dramatic at points. That feels more accurate. Still a fantastic listen

Nice thoughts Brad! It’s definitely an upsetting album at points - but I’m sure with subsequent listens that raw sadness will begin to wear off

I fully understand feeling like this is too much on first listen, and while 88 is still a very positive score from you I'm glad it rose once the emotional heft started to subside. Also watching you be so hyped to 'strap in' for a fun listen, only to be hit with the emotional equivalent of a steel chair did spark some schadenfreude, in jest of course. Love your content.

Its just so deeply impactful. Though I gotta say the message gets a little lost I'm translation with how surreal the imagery is, yet the vocal takes are some of the most powerfully hopeless and expression of genuine pain that I've heard in an album in years. So that makes up for the disconnect I get with some of these lyrics. I can deeply feel that these words mean a lot to the singer and that impacts me more than words alone can.
