five seconds flat

We have the Phoebiest of Phoebe Bridgers at home. This album at points sounds identical to Phoebe. It starts off in a really unlikable way, and slowly strips things back in a nice way. It has a strong sense of story, but I do not like the overall songs on this album. Occasional beauty.

To me this record is alright.
I like the production quite a lot, but very little is done with it. I love the way the instruments sound real, and you can distinguish them, and it's not all loud sludge pumping in your eardrums, but that's it. And honestly, this should be musically, the bare minimum for pop music. You should be able to hear instruments, kinda bop along, and there should be dynamics.
The writing is contemporary, and I think a lot of contemporary writing lacks depth, mystique or power, and this is one of those cases. That's a very personal thing tho, I don't blame anyone who gets it, but I don't. I don't feel anything because of this. Very little cool happened.
I also don't like whisper singing. Please just fucking use your voice for once. All these whispering singers have great voices, and I feel frustrated that those beautiful voices seem underutilised.
