I'll admit, there were maybe 3-4 songs on here that I enjoyed. However, the rest of the record blended together into shades of greige. No hate for those who enjoy it, but I just don't see myself returning to it.
I honestly gave From The Outside an attempt to surprise me. As a fierce 2010s Tumblr Music Warrior, I did have hopes to enjoy this album. However, those hopes were met with a repetitive, cheap imitation of already popular music. Nearly every track reminded me of a catchier, better song from another artist (ex: "This Is Me Breaking Up With You" is very reminiscent of Avril Lavigne's "The Best Damn Thing" album singles. "Hoodie" also reminds me of Tessa ... read more
Beautiful new track from JB and Chelsea. The song feels undoubtedly Bree-esc yet new and refreshing all at once. ADORE.
the fries ordered within the nothing-burger combo meal. admittedly, it's not the burger itself, and I rather enjoyed it. nothing groundbreaking however.
two insanely beautiful tracks directly after dropping one of the best albums this century... generational run incoming
Timeless and perfectly imperfect. Maybe I'm biased considering my long-standing love for this record. Still, I remain firm in believing this is Taylor's best release to date. Red is the quintessential 'Taylor Swift' album. A bit of country, a bit of pop, a bit of fun, a bit of heartbreak, a bit of love. Though some songs may appear weaker now given Taylor's releases the past decade, I believe even the worst songs of this album can stand a chance at top 50 of her ... read more
I'll always cringe at how I used to prowl around the Bandcamp new release tab in hopes of finding some insanely niche artists to gatekeep. However, I can't regret it when it led me to Cameron Winter the week he released his solo debut. Seeing the album become what it has will always make me happy. Cameron's talent is clear and this album deserves all of the praise and more.
My favorite record of all time. Preacher's Daughter is almost indescribably beautiful in so many ways. Truly, the only thing I can tell you about this album is that it's a must listen. From start to finish each track is sonically and lyrically poignant. There is no room for filler or average here. Not only does the record work as a beautifully harrowing conceptual piece, but each track stands on its own as sickeningly relatable stories about violence, religious trauma, forgiveness, ... read more
After his run with The Brunettes, I believe that The Primrose Path served as the perfect transition into the darker musical landscape Jonathan introduced with his solo work. It's witty, at times even funny, and overall melancholic. I truly do not believe there is a single filler or bad track on this record; each song holding a place of its own. This album will always hold the closest place in my heart and remains my favorite from Jonathan.
