Phoebe Bridgers - Punisher
100

I had this rated 88 and considering I’m sitting here staring at this vinyl sitting in my record player as it has been for quite some time, I really do think this is worthy of a 100 from me. Just one I keep in heavy rotation.. I find immense comfort in this album. Nights staying in, nights depressed and crying, it’s an album I can rest my head on. Phoebe’s voice is absolutely gorgeous and comforting, like a hug from your mother. It also hit me at a weird (but good) time in my ... read more

I feel like I’m finally listening to the Brat album everyone heard in 2024

Valiant Hearts - HIDDEN REALMS
92

It is absolutely mindboggling for me to grasp that Valiant Hearts is so under-the-radar in the post-hardcore scene whenever they flat out do it so much better than anyone else. It seems as if almost no one knows about them. Granted, they never tour (though, I hope that eventually changes). Going all the way back through their discography, every album is quite a stunner, even if there was a little bit of a stumble from Odyssey to Yonder. I think this album shows them finding their strength in ... read more

Miley Cyrus - Walk of Fame (Edit)
78

I get the appeal. It sounds phenomenal from a production standpoint and I would absolutely rate this a 90+ if it weren’t for Miley’s vocals. They sound so bad. But the background vocals and electronics sound absolutely orgasmic and ethereal. I’d love to see this done with literally anyone else’s voice or at least a vocalless version

The Callous Daoboys - I Don't Want to See You in Heaven
89

This album went insanely hard and completely annihilated any sort of expectations I had. I was pretty fond of Celebrity Therapist a few years ago and have been following the band ever since then. I have enjoyed each and every release and have been completely eager for what was coming next. As the singles rolled out, I wasn’t sure what to expect. First two were great. I didn’t like Lemon at first (but I grew to love it), and Mona Lisa did nothing for me at all (when first listening ... read more

Arcade Fire - Pink Elephant

Does this thing even have a pulse? Lethargic. Lifeless. Dull to the point of tears. There are no redeeming qualities on this thing. They’re just puppeting a corpse at this point

"@nudle I have been having such weird feelings on him. I love Eidola and I find The Architect to be amongst the best post-hardcore albums in a decade, so I know he has a great voice. But it just doesn’t mesh with DGD very well. I had high hopes for him when I heard he was moving to the vocalist spot, but yeah, I will agree he’s been disappointing. This album was actually quite great though. Way better than I expected from the single. But I will agree with the first comment here that Jon definitely carries this record. And maybe that’s why the songs are better outside of the singles. Because they feature pretty little Andrew. But the instrumentals here are fun. Best they’ve been in a decade+ in those regards."

"You’re wrong on that one. 1. Jonny 2. Tillian 3. Andrew 4. Kurt I’ve never understood the Kurt love. He has absolutely no range whatsoever. Every song he does sounds the exact same, whether it’s with DGD, solo material, ALLB, he’s far and away their worst. Jonny is far and away their best. Sucks he’s an asshole but I’d probably be as well if I was as good of a vocalist he is. Everyone just wants to hate on him bc he’s an ass. And I guess like seeing Kurt in a positive light because he’s not. He’s a very weak vocalist though."
