This that ‘Mansion’ music / I let that chopper sang and they listen to it - Ken Carson, but Trippie takes a page out of Opium’s book and comes out with his own version of their 2022 projects.

Trippie Redd, an artist I hold in very high regard, drops his first project of the year with MANSION MUSIK, an album which hasn’t been very highly received unfortunately. Trippie is extremely talented and this album shows off each one of his skills when he raps, screams, and sings. This is his most solid project in a while with many highlights which are fun as hell to listen to.

Trippie has always been one of my favorite artists. Something about his music has always been so interesting and personal to me, probably since I discovered his music right before he blew up from his first Love Letter tape, a series which has been declining in quality but one that I still consider very influential. Rage has been a genre which has been growing at a strangely quick rate, and Trippie rides the trend amazingly. He features some big hitters like Juice WRLD and Travis Scott but also some underrated names such as Summrs and Lucki. There’s a few no names, but Fiji surprised me with how good his feature was. There’s a pick and choose amount of highlights here, and if you don’t like Trippie in general and rage/trap, you might not find much to love in this tape, but as someone who loves both, I found a lot of enjoyment in this tape. The beats are refreshing, and while Trip and Night was more future bass based, MM is pure unbelievably high quality rage and gangsta rap that comes from deep inside. I couldn’t have asked more besides a shorter track list and less duds from Trippie, but how it is is pretty solid and I can find a lot of enjoyment in what we have.
