Caligula is intense, dark, and angry and felt very cathartic upon first listen. Conceptually the album is brilliant and brutally honest. The weakest moments come from Ignota's reliance on shock value and the occasional gaudy song writing. Overall I appreciate this album as an exploration of betrayal, disdain, and devastation despite any shortcomings. It won't be a pleasant listen, but that's the point.
