this was actually really fun
it's a repetitive album, sure. i don't at all mean that in a bad way though. the band for sure takes that element and uses it to have a really energetic and extremely entertaining album. basically a rapid fire collection of really cool nu metal songs.
a pretty fun little collection of songs, with cool ideas as with every lemon demon album. not my favourite of Neil's projects but i can easily say this is a GIANT step from his previous works under the lemon demon name, even after the really fun album that was Damn Skippy.
i feel the sound could have been changed up a but as many songs sound pretty samey. other than that i liked this.
This album has a really cool and charming homemade vibe to it that i don't see a lot of albums having.
Its not anything crazy, but its a pretty fun experience with the song transitions and all the different ideas
Its a pretty geeky album i won't lie, but it tries a whole lot of interesting things and it makes it extremely unique and one of a kind.
song themes are weird on this one lmao. an amnesia patient falling in love with thief doctor, a journey out at sea with your mermaid ... read more
rest in peace to matt. gone far too soon. did some incredible stuff on this album.
can't say much about this that hasn't been said before. this is an insanely well done and produced album from one of the best new bands in recent years. every track has its moment that completely floors me. the overdone production works so well and makes it feels like some electronic pop journey. so glad this finally clicked with me.
this track list is 10/10 after 10/10 oh my LORD
this was absolutely phenomenal, all songs were incredible, slow songs, high energy songs, so much to love.
not really much i can say that isn't just repeating others, this is an incredible display of what one of the best songwriters of the century so far can do. an insanely fun and unique album that goes by quicker than you'd think.
Illinois is about the state of the same name. going over it's people and it's history. ... read more
such a fun album. one that jokes around and doesn't really take itself seriously but in a really fun and engaging kind of way. every track is different and does its own thing like a big test tube of mixed ideas
themes of the ocean in albums is also a thing i love. we need more of it lmfao
This is an album that not a lot of people could have pulled off. It's a mix of two usually distant genres, IDM and Shoegaze (dream pop is also throughout)
It's so Insane to me that this was produced in a way where it's never too jarring. Valerie's soft vocals go perfectly over the heavy guitar and the glitchy chaotic elements.
This thing gives you no time to process it's insanity. The second half of fruitcake and cookies goes from a slower song with glitches to a ... read more
The same fun and experimental music to be expected from a the band from V:D:C, but without the IDM elements that might draw some away
While I like V:D:C much more than this album, this is still an incredible collection of the most enjoyable indie pop songs.
(btw darkness is a top 20 song oat)
learned of this through Human Reviews video reaction and god damn I'm glad i did. this debut really shows an immense amount of talent and fun during its runtime. i loved every second of this, each song had a part that blew me away. this is genuinely my AOTY 2025, insanely good.
found this completely randomly on YouTube and god damn I'm glad I did, that was phenomenal
the vocals are insane especially the last vocals on b where it almost sounds like they are about to cry
Super good EP, A Lonely Sinner is definitely on my list of things to hear now
I adore sweet trip, but this is still one of the only albums on earth i vow to never listen too.
the creepiness of this thing after everything that came out completely ruin any chance of me wanting to listen to this.
it pains me that this band had to end in such a gross and frankly avoidable way. screw Roby Burgos.
no rating. as of right now, i have no intention of ever hearing this. and that hurts because I'm sure Valerie but work into this as well, i hope she's doing well and ... read more
this is an experience. it has moments of beauty and moments that genuinely made me feel uncomfortable. this is my first Godspeed album, if this isn't even their highest rated I'm intimidated a bit lmao.
such a one of a kind soundscape they made on this project. it goes through so many different sections but each fit together so well and never feel out of place. i thought I'd get bored listening to a near 30 minute song but this kept my attention the whole way through.
this is a ... read more

such an incredible mix of both slow ballads and pure beauty and energy. everything is so well put together on this record.
As my first Sufjan album (surprised it wasn't Illinois lmao), i am extremely impressed with this. it instrumentation and stories told make the state of Michigan sound like a fairytale that i want to go to explore and learn about. it's a real shame this album is so overshadowed by Illinois, because there is a lot to love about this album as well
it's rare to have an album feel like it has a story to tell. from the seamless transitions between tracks, to the underlying theme of life and it's ups and downs, this record is a magnificent journey in every sense. it deserves all the praise it gets and then some.
some really good songs on this (PIN-EYE is a highlight and a half) but others make me a little bored unfortunately. nothing against Jhariah, it's just that this type of music isn't my thing, and some tracks weren't for me while others were
still an incredibly produced and super fun album. if anyone likes high energy songs they should give this a chance
some insane guilty pleasures on this. Some songs the band had the goddamn midas touch for some reason. Amylase goes so incredibly crazy.
Although this thing does also have some absolute snoozers lmfao
this is so unbelievably forgotten in this bands discography, it's a shame because it's genuinely one of my favourites of the ones I've listened to so far.
