It’s still not great but Russ fits this style a lot better.

I’ve never been a Russ fan or anything, but I thought he had glimpses of potential on some of his projects, even if those projects were mostly terrible. I saw decent things about this and thought maybe this would be a project where he capitalizes on his potential. And while it’s definitely an improvement, it’s still just held back by Russ.

The beats are very solid, and Russ’s performances aren’t terrible, but on every song the feature kinda outshines him lmao. KXNG Crooked bodied his verse, so did Ab-Soul, so did Busta Rhymes, and so did Benny the Butcher. Russ isn’t necessarily bad on here, but he isn’t what I found interesting and he still comes through with some incredibly corny lyrics, even if he flows pretty well at points. Overall, Chomp isn’t great, but it’s a step in the right direction.
