SUN GOES DOWN

Edit: This song has grown on me. This is definitely one of Lil Nas X’s best written songs. Really liking how personal and introspective it is, and it makes up for it being a little bland sonically. 75 to an 80

I think this is a nice song and I definitely like it, but it’s just underwhelming and kinda bland compared to Montero and some of the unreleased snippets I’ve heard from him.

I have been super excited for Lil Nas X’s album, and there are multiple snippets that he has teased that I really want to drop. But unfortunately, of the 3 singles he released for this album, I only really love “Montero”. “Holiday” was a solid song, but it wasn’t great and unfortunately neither is this song.

“Sun Goes Down” is a nice pop song, but the production is a little bland. It is a catchy song though, and I do like the personal lyrics and the sentiment of the song. The strings at the end of the song also sound great, but this just isn’t the smash hit that I was hoping for. Still highly anticipating the album though, and excited to see what Lil Nas X does next.
