There are a few bangers but most of the tracks are just ok, it's enjoyable but there's some lack of quality here and there that lower down the rating
I'm not even a jazz fan I put this on at a random moment because I wanted to hear some jazz and it blew me away, I don't know if it's the best in jazz but I do know it is perfect for people like me who'd like to get into, jazz now I wanna listen to all of the musicians of the album and they each have a bigger discography than all my favorite artists united (the point is I'll never get bored)
I think the production really feels futuristic for the time it came out, the vocals also are great I thought I was hearing the Doors again at first listen, yet the songwriting stays kind of basic on most of the tracks, I guess they felt like their production would be enough to make them unique (and they were right in a way), but I personnally feel like the album could have been much better if they worked more on the songwriting, that's all
I don't think this is the "best rock album of the 80s" that a lot of people told me about, but this is definitely a great album
These guys tried to do the most "simple" album, it became the most "simple but efficient" album I've heard
Even if I like this album, the Who did way better I think, first off I don't think they can do concept albums, I give them a good rating for the music but about the lyrics it's not that amazing, plus the overall theme is just another version of Tommy, which wasn't great lyrically talking either. About the music I think some songs are unfortunately here only to serve the lyrics, and not the opposite, and I just think even if it's solid they clearly put less effort into ... read more
What a great debut, Metallica really is one of the few bands that debuted as professionals, they define their sound really well, I think the goal of it is to show people a clear example of what they're doing, which wouldn't have worked well with concept albums like MoP or Justice for All
Hot take: this is the best work from both Jpeg and Danny Brown, the production is ridiculously genius and both rappers flow really well on the beats, which isn't quite simple at all considering how original those beats are
Is it good ? I think so
Is all the album necessary ? Nah last part was boring plus there are some skips and weak tracks using AI on this
Is Kanye fully back ? It is definitely a step forward from his 3 previous records, it definitely not as good as before thought, feels kind of unfinished at some point, and Kanye's rapping is nothing crazy, I think we have to wait and see what he's gonna do next
(Edit: I know it looks like I'm roasting the album and then giving it a 70 for no ... read more
Really cool experience, I don't think this album is the masterpiece a lot of people told me about but it's still great I think Gorillaz is being really inventive and diverse on the songwriting and the production of this record
Kind of disappointed they lost the energy they had on their debuts with this album, it's not bad but there's nothing really crazy about it, that's sad knowing Rainbow was just becoming one of the most recognized bands in all of metal and I think this record was part of their fall off
Great record ! Blackmore's heavy metal/hard rock riffs combined with Dio's voice and energy couldn't have been bad
Revolutionary. At the time we can all agree that music based on trying to scare people by using heavy riffs and tritones wasn't even considered serious and everybody thought a band who would try that would never blow up, yet they did it somehow, I think most of people don't realize that this album, this band was the beginning of a new culture, and one of the biggest music genres to exist. Rip to Ozzy Osbourne
Metallica at their peak, the energy in the albums is unmatched, all the members got great performance
Didn't expect a jazz/trap/rnb rap album to be that cohesive and pleasant to listen
Schoolboy Q might be have the best flows for the worst lyrics (I mean the lyrics aren't awful but just super basic), great album though
