Pray It Away

Personally I’m very unhappy with this song. It sounds beautifully, but my issue is the length, the timing, and the fact that it’s the lead single.

Lemme start by saying I love the content of the song and that it is very sonically pleasing. However, I have a gut feeling telling me that this should’ve been an album track where Chloe showed off a major vocal performance.

Personally, I think the song would’ve been better if each time she changed her octave, that it would usher a new part of the song. I also feel like with a song this dramatic and intense, it should have time to breathe. It starts and ends too abruptly.

I love Chlöe’s voice and think she is an amazing singer, songwriter, and producer, but I was really underwhelmed to see that this song suffered the same issues as surprise or treat me. They are great concepts, but need to be expanded on as a song.
