Favorite Track: STEROIDS (CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN GABBER MEGAMIX)
“Bottomless Pit” shows that Death Grips can master every new sound their music finds itself emulating, and works as a vast improvement of the rock-styled instrumentation found on Jenny Death.

Death Grips’ monster double-album is an impressive voyage into two distinct sounds that they use well, yet haven’t mastered.
Favorite Tracks: UP MY SLEEVES; BILLY NOT REALLY; SAY HEY KID; VOILA; INANIMATE SENSATION; TURNED OFF; WHY A BITCH GOTTA LIE; PSS PSS; BEYOND ALIVE; ON GP
Least Favorite Tracks: HAVE A SAD CUM BB; DEATH GRIPS 2.0
Death Grips’ weakest album (so far) still stays afloat off its catchiness and impressive, stripped instrumentation.
Favorite Tracks: YOU MIGHT THINK HE LOVES YOU...; ANNE BONNY; TWO HEAVENS; BIRDS; I’M OVERFLOW; WHATEVER I WANT (FUCK WHO’S WATCHING)
Least Favorite Tracks: BOOTLEG (DON’T NEED YOUR HELP)
The trio’s second studio effort strips back the production for a more raw sound, and it works exceptionally for a bulk of the album.
Favorite Tracks: COME UP AND GET ME; LIL BOY; NO LOVE; BLACK DICE; HUNGER GAMES; BASS RATTLE STARS OUT THE SKY; ARTIFICIAL DEATH IN THE WEST
Least Favorite Track: STOCKTON
Death Grips’ studio debut is a perfect industrial hip hop album.
Favorite Tracks: THE FEVER (AYE AYE); LOST BOYS; BLACKJACK; HUSTLE BONES; I’VE SEEN FOOTAGE; DOUBLE HELIX; THE CAGE; PUNK WEIGHT; BITCH PLEASE; HACKER
Death Grips’ first big project satisfies with its tribal drums, vocals, and its impressive sample-based production.

Least Favorite Track: BLOOD CREEPIN
Personally, I’m not the biggest fan of the new trap trend of half-baked, stream-friendly, short tracks compiled onto projects for the sake of profit. Every album that follows this model (like this one) usually fails because hype tracks shouldn’t make up 100% of an album; there needs to be more variety in a track list to keep my attention. Until Lil Pump (or any other lazy trap artist) learns this, then all of his projects are going to feel similarly lazy like this one.

Xiu Xiu’s “Girl with Basket of Fruit” is a hard album to put into words. The experience feels like you’re peering into an insane person’s psyche, which is perfectly enforced by the album’s first two tracks, with their nonsensical ramblings and chaotic atmosphere. It’s an uncomfortable ride through the darkest parts of humanity, and its only flaws are occasional slowness, but overall, it’s an enthralling and somewhat rewarding experience once you ... read more
“Sungazer, Vol. 2” is a very entertaining and occasionally mind-bending electro jazz EP that hooks you in with its complicated instrumentation and exceptional production. The only flaws that I have with the project is its repetition: Sometimes, the album doesn’t feel as versatile as it could be, even though there’s only a few tracks.
But overall, the EP impressed me, and it stands out on its own as a very unique jazz album. I hope the duo continues making more music, ... read more
On their new album titled “Weezer,” Weezer covers ten well-known songs in a flawed and partially laughable, yet undeniably enjoyable way.
It’s hard to hate on an album that sounds like four dads having fun. Good job, dads.
Favorite Tracks: AFRICA; EVERYBODY WANTS TO RULE THE WORLD; TAKE ON ME; HAPPY TOGETHER; NO SCRUBS
Least Favorite Track: STAND BY ME
I actually enjoyed the first Bawskee; it was a enjoyably mindless trap album that lacked substance, but never bored me, really.
It’s too bad that “Bawskee 2” doesn’t improve on its predecessor’s many shortcomings. This album is a lot more boring and uninteresting than the previous album, even though it’s much shorter.
I’m starting to dislike Comethazine’s scant track lengths, because the songs basically end before they begin, which constantly ... read more
As a first introduction to this band, I’d have to say that I really enjoy the garage-style instrumentation and vocals on this album, even though I think the length of the EP prevents the tracks from having any meat. Still, it’s very entertaining while it’s on, and the first two tracks prove to be very catchy.
Favorite Tracks: KING OF THE DUDES; COME FOR ME
“Paper Crowns” has its moments of catchiness, but the clean production and uninteresting tracks make this project feel uninspired, and a bit too familiar.
Favorite Track: STUCK
Least Favorite Track: DRUNK AS HELL
As someone who is studying jazz in school, it’s nice to listen to an energetic and creative jazz album that has its own style and appeal.
Favorite Tracks: MY QUEEN IS ADA EASTMAN; MY QUEEN IS MAMIE PHIPPS CLARK; MY QUEEN IS HARRIET TUBMAN; MY QUEEN IS ANNA JULIA COOPER; MY QUEEN IS NANNY OF THE MAROONS; MY QUEEN IS ALBERTINA SISULU
Least Favorite Track: MY QUEEN IS DOREEN LAWRENCE
It’s an entertaining album while it’s on, but its length and occasional lack of interesting content prevents me from it giving it more listens. All in all, I think it’s a very competent and well-made deep house album, and hopefully it will grow on me more as time goes on.
Best Tracks: THIS OLD HOUSE IS ALL I HAVE; SOME KIND OF GAME; KNOW YOU; SUCH A BAD WAY; CITYFADE; NOW U GOT ME HOOKED
Worst Track: YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE ME AND SCREAM
Honestly, Comethazine’s music has charm (similar to Playboi Carti). “Bawskee” has simple yet mildly enjoyable trap tracks that are brought down by their scant length and depth. If Comethazine wants to really make a name for himself, he should really work harder to make each track stand out amongst the others. Currently, most of his songs feel like lengthy intros, but the potential is definitely there.

“In a Poem Unlimited” is a very versatile, jazzy, and interestingly psychedelic experience. Remy’s vocals and lyrics are tight and purposeful, and the instrumentals never fail to differ from each of the tracks. It’s like an odd mix of Talking Heads and 80s/ 90s pop, and all of it works well.
Best Tracks: VELVET 4 SALE; M.A.H.; ROSEBUD; INCIDENTAL BOOGIE; L-OVER; PEARLY GATES; TIME
