AOTY 2022
The final group effort delivers a couple bangers, but its lack of cohesion and some middling performances leave it feeling lackluster as a proper sendoff.

Weyes Blood - And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow
Weyes Blood returns with another pleasant batch of whimsical tracks to soothe the soul.

Standout Tracks: It's Not Just Me, It's Everybody, Children of the Empire, Grapevine

While there is a noticeable void left from the absence of the other members, Kevin Abstract still manages to bring a decent sense of closer for the band's bittersweet journey.

Standout Tracks: Big Pussy, Gold Teeth, The Family, Brockhampton

The Weeknd - Dawn FM
Never has purgatory sounded this groovy.

Standout Tracks: Sacrifice, Take My Breath, Out of Time, How Do I Make You Love Me?, Less Than Zero

The Beatles - Revolver (Super Deluxe)
Revolver finally has a proper stereo mix that beautifully enhances the original experience.
Taylor Swift - Midnights
Taylor’s return to pop struggles to make an impact with forced songwriting and middling production.

Standout Tracks: Sweet Nothing, Snow On The Beach

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Return of the Dream Canteen
Though it is long-winded, as is the problem with many RHCP albums, their newest effort contains some of their grooviest and catchiest songs in a long while.

Standout Tracks: Eddie, The Drummer, Fake As [email protected], Peace and Love

Alvvays - Blue Rev
Alvvays mostly succeed at enhancing their indie style with the likes of shoegaze and dream pop.

Standout Tracks: After The Earthquake, Easy On Your Own?, Many Mirrors, Pomeranian Spinster

The 1975 - Being Funny in a Foreign Language
The 1975 focus up with their most concise and mature record yet. However, Matt Healy’s lingering pretension and obvious sonic mimicry prohibit the experience from reaching its fullest potential.

Standout Tracks: All I Need To Hear, Happiness, Oh Caroline

Judas Priest - Firepower
Rob Halford sounds more charismatic and devilish than ever, resulting in a fantastic late-career highlight.
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Absolute thrash.

Standout Tracks: ALL OF THEM

Ed Sheeran - =
Y’all sleeping on Visiting Hours. Everything else from this project is straight comatose but that song is literally one of Ed’s best songs yet.
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Stadium Arcadium
The Chili Peppers stretch themselves thin with an exhaustive track list, yet the highlights are still some of their most impassioned and sticky tracks to date.

Standout Tracks: Dani California, Snow (Hey Oh), Wet Sand

Weezer - SZNZ: Autumn
While Autumn does approach a more natural 'Weezer' aesthetic, the result is still another mixed bag of overly quirky lyrics and unmet potential.

Standout Tracks: Run, Raven, Run, Can’t Dance, Don’t Ask Me, Francesca

The 1975 - All I Need To Hear
While it feels like the most structurally conventional single released so far, it comes off as the most complete and instantly likeable single too.
illuminati hotties - Sandwich Sharer
Makes me wanna share a sammie with that special someone
Andrew W.K. - I Get Wet
Party Hard is unironically one of the best rock songs of the century.
The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
While the Beatles feel a little lost in their own sauce, they still managed to pump out some iconic and groundbreaking songs that reshaped the future of pop and rock music.

Standout Tracks: Getting Better, With a Little Help From My Friends, A Day In The Life

The Beatles - Taxman (2022 Mix)
Finally a mix that sounds good and isn't unnecessarily hard-panned
Daft Punk - Discovery
Discovery is very disco.

"I agree! I just listened to the record today and man… some of these songs would hit so much harder if it didn’t sound like my head was underwater. A remix would do this album so much justice."

On Galaxy's review of Billie Eilish - Your Power
"Im curious what you expect out of Billie at this point. This sounds as good as the other chill songs on her debut, but easily more vulnerable and personal than before. Yeah its not a banger right out of the gate, but the lyrics seems genuine and the production is nice and intimate. Pretty good song for me but thats just my own take."
On Galaxy's review of Radiohead - OK Computer
"You like what you like. Are Radiohead the most innovative band ever? Eh. I would still say they perfected their own sound here and it stands the test of time more than many records from the 90s."

On ocrakraut's review of John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band - John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band
"It’s quite an emotional ride which no other Beatles member could really capture. The song God on its own is such a hard song to hear, especially when you grow up listening to the Beatles all of your life and John is basically saying “The Beatles are broken up. Get over it.” The nihilism of it breaks my heart every time."
