Really unique thall: chill and pretty... boring.
"Diamond Morning" is a nice appreciated twist in the usual dark thall sound. The low-tuned dissonant guitar is still there, but it's a lot sparser. The soundscape is calm and positive, almost happy. Screaming disappeared, only clean singing is present throughout the album. The remains from "classic" thall are the long song length and the good amount of instrumental only sections. Unfortunately, these are also part of ... read more
Consistently pissed, heavy and, surprisingly, groovy.
This album flows really well and instrumentation is solid, I especially liked the outro of "Can't Help Myself" and the main riff in "A Life in Four Chapters". The core of "Clockworked" is the lyrics, mostly about politics and the state of the world, particularly from an American point of view. These are really on point in the diss "Can I Have Your Autograph?", fine but somewhat generic in most of ... read more
It's raw and energetic, with fine instrumentation and riffs, but the vocals...

The riffs are just fine, with some standouts like the intro of "Gilded Cage". Unfortunately, I despise these weird compressed screamed vocals, which are also mixed to be the center of attention. Speaking of vocals, the cleans are pleasant, but they make up most of the song and they're not really to my taste. What I really liked are the choruses of most songs and the atmospheric ... read more
More punk in the spirit than in the sound, and it's a good thing.
"The Shape of Punk to Come" is a 55 minute long message written with insane groove, incredible production and good vocals. Songs structure is really interesting and never boring. Guitars, bass and drums all sound incredible, never overpower each other and also have their well-deserved solo moments. For guitar in particular, the riffs sound tight, never boring and, again, really groovy. (Also, I need to highlight ... read more
