Thundercat follows up his record, “Drunk”, with another sweet album in, “It Is What It Is.” The album kicks off with, “Lost In Space/Great Scott/22-26”, a very soft, yet vibey track. A very basic opener, that blends perfectly into, “Interstellar Love”. This track has so much going on. The drums are amazing on this song. A sweet saxophone kicks in halfway thru and carries the track the rest of the way. A great jazz track, with Thundercat letting ... read more

Harry Styles, former One Direction member, has solidified himself as a solo artist the most out of the other members since the boyband broke up. I was a very big fan of his self-titled debut album and had big expectations on this album. “Golden” starts the album off in a very upbeat matter. It definitely seems to move away from the vibes on their album before, "Youngblood". The second song, "No Shame", was the second single released in support of the album. The chorus is very catchy and it's got a groovy, yet faint, guitar riff. This is a song that is a highlight on the album. Another single, "Old Me", is the third track. ... read more

So it would definitely be worth checking into some alt-country, most recently Honey Harper - Starmaker and Orville Peck - Pony. I also particularly liked Kacey Musgraves - Golden Hour. I've been trying to expand my country interest just so I can be a little more well rounded musically, so I've definitely been in your shoes before in terms of country!

As someone not super into country, I still feel compelled to get you into country and I don't know why.
19 Year Old music addict. I listen to everything except country music, (sorry that’s the most basic line ever but it’s true.) My favorite artists include:Korn, Tame Impala, SWMRS, Cleopatrick, Badflower and Dead Poet Society
