ROLLING STONE #494

If I had a time machine, I think the first place I would want to go is 1950s-60s New York. What a time that was just for American culture as a whole. Watching Mad Men really just made me fall in love with this era when it comes to the music, the fashion, the glamorous city, the art, the films, the explosion of media and advertising. It just seems like it was an exciting time to be alive.

This album right here I think encapsulates that era with the vintage production, the ... read more

I really have come around to the whole hyperpop genre and I aint looking back. This is just so much fun! There are times when I am just craving this music along with artists like charli and gecs and I don't really know why. On this record, Dorian gives us a very upfront view of their world and personality in a way like no other. The blend of these big, driving synths, disgusting beats, and Dorian's unconventional vocals really just work. I feel like this genre just continues to evolve and I ... read more

This album was one of the early albums on the list that I was most looking forward to because their hit songs that I already knew are just absolute jams that you can't help but smile when listening. So, maybe I just went in with overly high expectations, but I felt pretty underwhelmed with this thing as a whole. There definitely are some standout tracks on this for sure like "I'll Make Love To You", "On Bended Knee", and "Water Runs Dry". ... read more

This is a really cool album, and I'm sure this rating would be higher if I understood what she was saying. We got some classic pop mixed with these bursts of rock and roll and of course a Latin flair with the acoustic guitar licks, horn lines, and percussion throughout. The production sounds really nice for a ... read more

Wow, I actually enjoyed this quite a bit. Really nice blend of club beats and gorgeous, chill. electronic synths. Vocal performance was heavenly as usual. Solid 4 tracks right here.

Grateful Dead somehow didn't cross my mind yesterday, but now that you're saying it it makes too much sense.

Okay so I've never solicited for a list before, but I had an extra obnoxious idea and I wanted to get other people to contribute to me being obnoxious.

What album makes you think of your dad?

Well now this makes sense why you two users are both doing it at the same time, and also I am tickled I messaged you both about it.

Had you listened to many of the albums prior to starting the project? I looked at the list and found that I’d listened to half shockingly.

I’ll be praying for you. I don’t think I could do it. How much of the list have you already listened to?

Oh my god you’re covering the Rolling Stone 500. Godspeed to you. I’m really excited to see how that shapes out and if you can make it to the very end.
