About as drab as an electric car ride and as lengthy as an EV charge, "We Appreciate Power" is a retro-futuristic homage to Neon Genesis Evangelion that ironically lacks any forward-thinking sound whatsoever. Instead, we have a pastiche of generic industrial nonsense you could find plenty of 20 years ago. Not to mention the cringe-worthy lyrics. What was once an admirable and eccentric project producing genuinely interesting works has slowly devolved into contrived mediocrity. If ... read more

Aviary sounds avant-garde to a fault. Kicking off with a barrage of improvisation that exists only to display her sound palette. Julia's relatively monotone vocals add some much needed indulgence, but not enough to sustain a track, let alone an album. Once in a while she presents some interesting ideas, bits of Chaitius, Another Dream, I Shall Love 2, Underneath the Moon, Les Jeux to You, but it's a tedious listen overall. Much of her compositions are underdeveloped and end too abruptly as ... read more

Dead Can't Dance are resurrected once again to jerk their style without a hook in sight. Listen to Spleen and Ideal or Eye of the Hunter instead.

I was a bit surprised by this one. Randy really upped the ante by drastically increasing the production value and featuring an array of guest singers (James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt, Don Henley & Elton John). In the process, he's created an overblown rock opera that still somehow retains much of the charm and familiar songwriting we'd come to expect from any release of his. Unfamiliar though, is the introduction of gospel and metal styles that make a worthwhile addition. Be ... read more

Innovator is as innovative as the name suggests. Regarded as the "Miles Davis of techno", Derrick May is one of the founding fathers of Detroit techno (and by far the most creative in my opinion). This compilation serves as the ultimate introduction to the genre and techno as a whole. Starting off slow and building momentum, Innovator offers 28 tracks (2 hours) of varied, worthwhile content that will keep you dancing until the very end.

Yes it is. Virgins is somehow overrated.

Thanks. Again, I do apologize for the confusion. Hope you have a good day.

I do listen to albums in full, most of the 80 or so albums I rated yesterday were albums I already listened to that I never rated or former scores for albums that I no longer agree with in retrospect, I should have made that more clear before I did that and I apologize. For the albums I rated immediately after you did, again they were albums I had previously listened to and never rated. If you have any questions I'd be glad to answer them, I apologize for the confusion I cause.

Interesting, that seems it is the case really. I have given albums low scores overtime and the general rating does not change as much as I thought it would.

That's good to hear.

Thanks for getting me into The Residents btw. That review you made on Not Available really made me like them a lot.

Yeah, I plan on getting that and Gas - Nah und Fern. I would get Gas - Box but Nah und Fern has some remixed songs on there only made for that box set so I was more interested in it.

I guess so. I always like it though when something is picked up like that though. I mean all of those cassettes are probably worth like about 50$ each to get each original copy of them and finding some of the songs on those cassettes online is a pain. (even with soulseek)
