Radiohead - Kid A

Legendary.

Not gonna lie this is my favourite album of all time as of me writing, and I just want to gush about it.

Kid A needs no introduction, it is seen as one of Radiohead's landmark records alongside OK Computer, and was their first venture into electronic music. Being spawned from the depression caused by constant touring, the band decided to throw caution to the wind and make a complete U-turn.

What gets me so much about this album is how uncanny yet human it is, how an album that is ... read more

Ed Sheeran is back with his fifth instalment into the mathematical themed albums, previous albums Divide and Equals saw Ed pushing further and further into pop with tracks like Shape Of You and Bad Habits. To put it nicely, I've been an admitted non-enjoyer of Ed Sheeran before. I called No. 6 Collaborations Projects a cash grab (it was) and gave Equals a zero, but Subtract for all of its flaws, at least it feels like Ed had something to say, even if how he delivers it is generic and ... read more
Melanie Martinez - PORTALS

Morbid curiosity compelled me to listen to this. I did go into this without really any expectations other than it would likely be somewhat generic, which isn't the biggest crime in the world. But my god, this is insufferable and annoying. It's a done to death argument here that's been repeated ad nauseam, but sadly it is true.

The lyrics are grating and painfully cringe at points. Calling tracks like SPIDER WEB derivative is an understatement - it sounds like a throwaway Billie Eilish track ... read more

Beach House - Become

After the phenomenal and extravagant double album Once Twice Melody in 2022, Beach House grace us with 5 more tracks in the Become EP. The band describe them as not fitting in with the world of Once Twice Melody, but rather they fit within a little world of their own - which is a pretty good summarisation! The tracks here certainly feel like they were created from the same headspace Once Twice Melody was, but are more stripped back and conjure up a little bit of the darker sound of 7 and the ... read more
Magdalena Bay - mini mix vol. 3

I'm convinced at this point that Magdalena Bay aren't capable of making bad music, they persistently continue to release great tracks project after project without fail.

Magdalena Bay return with the third instalment in their mini mix series, a bite sized mixtape of usually 2 minute long songs, and as always they come bringing the fun and energetic sound they are so well known for by now if you've ever listened to any of their prior work. There are some wonderful standouts here, such as EXO, ... read more
