I can only describe this album in one word: Dirty. From the beats to the lyrics, the vibe I keep getting from this album is dirty. While the production isn't as amazing as the albums with Kenny Segal, the production present here helps create the feeling of being controlled by either the system or our dark thoughts. Songs like Wharves and Heavy Water give this feeling of trying to work hard to get out of the harsh and unforgiving system, whatever that system is. Not only that, but Billy's lyrics also seem more angry, calling out those who have mistreated the black people and destroying what they have worked hard for. Maybe that's why I get this vibe of feeling dirty. The things we do to people and how we try to change how they think is disgusting. Overall, this is a great album that really showcases the talent Billy has on his own.
