In case you want to know what I think of each of both sides of The Powers That B, here are the links. I'll just talk about the overall experience of The Powers That B

Jenny Death Review: https://www.albumoftheyear.org/user/cjay/album/29689-jenny-death/
While The Powers That B doesn't offer any new songs, the overall experience is something that is hard to explain. Obviously, the first 8 tracks ... read more
Jenny Death is more of that traditional sound from Death Grips. While N**** on the Moon sounded more somber and destroyed mentally, Jenny Death has that distorted and heavy production that mostly seems to take more elements from Exmilitary than The Money Store. MC Ride on this project sounds way more aggressive than on NOTM, and he brings back those disgusting and violent lyrics that everyone enjoys from him. Surprisingly, though, the lyrics on this album are a lot easy to understand, theme ... read more
N***** on the Moon is one of the weirdest releases from Death Grips, and that mainly has to do with the samples. The Björk samples that go throughout the entire album add this unsettling feeling to it, and it's done in a way where the songs go hard and have this grim and sober feeling to it at the same time. But while this album is very different from Death Grips' other projects, they still keep that glitchy and experimental sound that they have at this point mastered. Songs like Big ... read more
I turn 17 years old today, and I'm reviewing an album that I don't even love. I just found that kind of funny
Government Plates is easily Death Grips' weakest album, not counting Fashion Week since it's just an instrumental album. There are definitely some cool ideas presented here, especially in the first 5 tracks, where the production sounds empty yet eerie. It honestly sounds like something that would inspire the sound for clippings 2 most recent records. However, the ... read more
Original Review: Fun Fact: Death Grips actually used my dick for this cover. I still have the uncensored picture
I am serious. The dick on the album cover is my dick. Ya'll just don't want to believe me because all of you have small dicks. Small dick havers π€
While No Love Deep Web isn't a masterpiece, it's still a great album that sees the group evolving their sound. What makes this album memorable though is how loud the bass. Whether it was purposely done or not, the bass on each track ... read more
Original Review: My dick and balls grew 5 times
Original Score: 9/10
Trust me, I definitely did NOT copy Bradtaste's review in my original review π
I'm going to say it, The Money Store is not only Death Grips' best album but also their most accessible album. While Exmilitary had fucked up production that would definitely leave you cultured shocked, The Money Store takes that production and somehow makes it catchy and listenable. The production somehow sounds dirty and clean at the same ... read more
Original Review: I'm going to rip your rib cage and cut your throat
R.I.P comment section π₯²
There were some funny people down there
The only word that perfectly describes this mixtape is "disgusting." Everything about this mixtape makes me feel uncomfortable and disgusted, and I mean that in the best way possible. There are so many things that make this mixtape what it is. The production on this mixtape is insane. If you thought albums like The Money Store and Bottomless Pit had ... read more
Why? Why is this a thing? They literally just butchered a classic song from OutKast and made it a cringy emo track that doesn't have any of the charm the original track had, and it's over a basic ass piano
This is actually pretty terrible. It's not the worst album of the year, but for me, it's just not good.
I wanted to check this album out because I've seen some positive reviews of this. Going into it, I expected some spacy rock and a combination of pop, which I kind of like since I listen to Starset. But no. I came out of it disappointed and confused on why people think this is AOTY contender. I'll start with one positive. Some of the production is pretty cool, but even then, it sounds like ... read more
Fun song. Kendrick and Keem are out here just having fun with Ty- wait. TYLER THE CREATOR!?!?
uknowhatimsayin¿ is such an underrated album from Danny. Sure, it doesn't have the wild energy and production that many, including myself, loved about Atrocity Exhibition. However, this record isn't going for that sound that was present on Atrocity Exhibition. Instead, uknowhatimsayin¿ goes for a more old-school hip-hop sound, with production that has some amazing and soulful samples that can be heard throughout the entire album. There are definitely some more songs that somewhat ... read more
Original Review: Insane! Don't know why some people have a problem with Danny's voice. I think it elevates the music and what it's conveying.
Atrocity Exhibition is not only one of the quintessential hip-hop albums of the 2010s, but it's also Danny Brown's best and most vulnerable album to date. Here, Danny basically perfects everything he has offered that was present on his previous records.
First, the energy. Danny has been wild before, but he is absolutely out of control on this album. ... read more
If side B was completely taken off the album, Old would have been better π
Old is a little bit of a dip in quality for Danny, and that's mostly because of the second half of this album. But before I talk about that, I want to talk about side A. Side A has some amazing production that works off the sound of XXX, again having this dark sound to it. Danny's lyrics are also very dark, talking about seeing abuse and feeling lonely. And while there are certainly a few tracks on side A that didn't ... read more
The one big complaint I have of this album is there being a lot of filler tracks. But other than that, XXX is a great album that shows Danny evolving both his sound and character on his albums. The production on this album is a lot more darker and grimier, which matches Danny's flows on this album, being more wild and not feeling as constricted as on The Hybrid. XXX is also one of Danny's personal albums, giving us an insight to what Danny had to go through and what he's thinking, which can ... read more
The Hybrid is a decent debut album from the one and only Danny Brown. There are definitely a lot of things that didn't age well, such as the bare bone production and lackluster lyrics. However, there are still some great tracks that would help form Danny's later projects. While Danny is not as wild as we know him today, White Stripes and Juno show someone who's finding their voice in hip-hop. S.O.S. and Thank God are also some examples of songs that show Danny being visual with the type of ... read more
Original Review: Peggy is one of the best out there, no question about it. This production is the definition of bliss.
Ever since the offline version of LP! reached streaming services, I've been wanting to redo my review of this album.
LP! was my first ever taste of JPEGMAFIA's sound, who was introduced to me by the one and only Anthony Fantano. At the time, I wanted to expand my music taste a little, especially in the hip-hop genre. When I listened to this album, I was pretty shocked at ... read more
Original Review: Peggy's most catchiest moments. I am not disappointed.
All My Heroes Are Cornballs is significantly different from Veteran. While it does have that weird production that was present on Veteran, All My Heroes Are Cornballs is much weirder. The feeling I get from this album is much more depressing in a way, with its slower songs and vibes. The production on this album is difficult to explain, especially because of the transitions from each track to the next. One minute you're ... read more
Original Review: This is an amazing experimental hip hop album. Peggy lets everyone knows why he is here.
Veteran is the album that brought some attention to Peggy, and for good reason. Throughout this entire album, the production is weird as fuck. The first track doesn't seem all that weird. It seems like your standard hip-hop song with a great beat and some loud energy. Then we get to Real... uh... Neighbor? Anyways, we get to this song and everything completely changes. The song is ... read more
