JID - The Forever Story
90

Original Review: JID has already proven that he is an amazing rapper, but this is a completely new level. Amazing lyrics and production.

When JID announced that a new album was coming, the whole world was talking about this release. In only a short amount of time, people started to see the talent he had. From his flows to the bars, it's easy to see why people started to praise. Then, once the album was released, it was now confirmed. JID is one of the best modern rappers in the game right ... read more

Kill Bill: The Rapper - FULLMETAL KAIJU
70

This is probably Kill Bill's best album since Ramona. The production here is incredible, and Bill's lyricism is top tier. For me, the last 3 tracks are some of the best on this record and some of Bill's most honest and vulnerable songs to date. Definitely something worth checking out.

Thundercat & Tame Impala - No More Lies

The production and vibes are amazing, and Thundercat and Tame Impala's vocal performances mesh well together. I'm glad to see Thundercat working hard on some new amazimg music

Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin
90

My journey through Led Zeppelin's discography was one that I really enjoyed.

Everything about this album is iconic. Not only was this the start of an iconic band, but it also paved the way of heavy metal. Even the album cover alone is recognizable.

Not only is this album iconic, but it is also unique in every way. From the vocals to the instrumentation, this album is unlike any other rock album at the time. The songs are heavy, which also being melodic. Songs like You Shook Me and I Can't ... read more

Original Review: What else is there. This is the best mixtape ever created.

I can't believe I didn't give this masterpiece of a mixtape an actual review. Sorry about that.

But I'm not wrong. This mixtape is a masterpiece. However, unlike most people, I only listened to it once it hit streaming services. At the time, I didn't know it was originally released in 2014. I loved it on first listen, but I grew a bigger appreciation for this mixtape once I learned when it was released.

I was someone ... read more

Primus - Pork Soda
80

What the fuck did I listen to?

This has to be one of the strangest listens I have had, and in the best way possible. The best part about this album is the instrumentation. It sounds unique and it's surprisingly catchy, while also having a dark tone to it. This dark tone is amplified with the strange lyrics, which can be found on songs like DMV and Pork Soda. It's a difficult listen while also being accessible. A strange record that has so much going for it.

Sunny Day Real Estate - Diary
80

Not gonna lie, the new Lego movie poster goes hard

I've been meaning to check this album out when I saw it in one of Brad's videos. And you know what, I'm not disappointed. For an emo rock album, this was a great listen. The instrumentation is amazing, and the lyrics are thought-provoking. While not every moment hits, the overall experience is engaging, especially for a genre that can be a hit and miss. I would recommend this album for those who want to understand or experience an authentic ... read more

Kanye West - Donda

Original Review: Yeah, this whole album is messy, but at least we get the best feature of all time at the end of Remote Control.

Kanye West Deep Dive #10: The Finale (maybe?)

I think Donda is Kanye's strangest record to date, which says a lot. I remember listening to this record when it came out. At the end of the album, I was speechless. I didn't know how to feel about it. On one hand, I felt like this record went on for way too long. But on the other hand, this album felt unique, especially ... read more

Kanye West - JESUS IS KING

Original Review: I'm sorry Jesus, Ye didn't have to do this to you

Kanye West Deep Dive #9

I'm going to be real with ya'll, I don't want to review this album. I still feel the same about it. So I'm going to do the most unprofessional thing and put the lyrics of the song with the Chick-fil-a line because I think it's funny and basically sums up this album.

[Chorus]
Closed on Sunday, you're my Chick-fil-A
Closed on Sunday, you my Chick-fil-A
Hold the selfies, put theโ€…'Gramโ€…away
Get your ... read more

Kanye West - ye
80

Original Review: None of us would be here without cum

Kanye West Deep Dive #8

There's a reason why this album is named ye. It's Kanye at his most vulnerable. While we've seen this vulnerability on records like 808s & Heartbreak and TLOP, here, Kanye is letting out his darkest thoughts. From ideas of suicide to being a father, it's clear that Kanye was dealing with a lot of personal issues during this time. Obviously, this album also has weird lines that make you raise your eyebrow. ... read more

Original Review: Not sure what Kanye did, but that asshole has been bleached

Kanye West Deep Dive #7

I should hate this album. There are so many spots on this album that are messy. Not only that, but some of these lyrics are so stupid and terrible. Yet, it all comes together well. I'm not going to be that guy and say that it's a masterpiece, but this is a great weird album. There are so many random moments here that then transition into beautiful tracks, such as Waves transitioning to FML, ... read more

AJR - The Dumb Song

I bet if I mention these stupid lyrics, someone is going to say, "That's the point. It's suppose to be a dumb song." That said, it's somewhat listenable. SOMEWHAT

Big Thief - Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You
90

Fantano was right. This album doesn't drag at all.

This album is a beautiful piece of art. I've never been the biggest fan of folk music, since most of it isn't interesting. However, this is different. From the lyrics, instrumentation, and vocals, this album feels like a realistic fantasy. It's an album that feels soft and calm to listen to. Even though it has the usual folk elements, it's not done in a way where it feels basic or repetitive. It's just an overall amazing listen that has moving ... read more

The Weeknd - Double Fantasy

Yeah, this shit is hitting. Abel and Future work so well together on this track. Nothing but a vibe all the way

Kanye West - Yeezus
90

Original Review: I am a god
Original Score: 8/10

Kanye West Deep Dive #6

I may get a few weird looks from people for the fact that I ranked Yeezus higher than MBDTF. Not only that, but now I gave it a 9/10. I guess the only reason for this is that I love experimental and weird music. This is Kanye at his most wild and unhinged yet. A lot of the lyrics are so random, but they don't feel out of place. The production is harsh and messy, but it also has a feeling of someone letting out their ... read more

Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
80

Original Review: Not as bad as fantano said it was, but not as legendary as people say it is.

Kanye West Deep Dive #5

I know most people won't agree with me on this, but this album is overrated. I hate using that term, but it's the only way I can describe this album. Obviously, this album is huge because it was basically Kanye back on his bullshit and away from those sad boy vibes. And I can't deny that there are so many amazing tracks, such as Monster and Power. And of course, ... read more

Adele - 30
70

While this isn't music I return to often, 30 has some beautiful moments that are emotionally potent and moving. My Little Love is a great example of this emotional potency, with lyrics talking about the internal struggle of being a mother, and being someone who wants to cry out. However, this isn't an album that is just suppose to be sad. It's suppose to be an album that uplifts those who feel broken or lost, especially for women and mothers.

Edit: (80 --> 70)

Kanye West - 808s & Heartbreak
80

Original Review: Kanye is taking his heart out and letting his emotions spill out.

Kanye West Deep Dive #4

There are so many emotional factors that influenced this album. One of the biggest being the death of Kanye's mother, Donda West. Donda was Kanye's biggest role model. She was the reason Kanye got his attitude of pushing through the doubts from people. Without her, Kanye felt alone. It also didn't help that he and Alexis Phifer broke up in the same time frame. With all of these things ... read more
