My relationship with La Dispute is a strange one. Frankly, my relationship with emo in general is bizarre. The topic of death and depression makes me deeply uncomfortable, yet time and time again, I never fail to gravitate to the darkest of albums—Wildlife is no exception. Jordan Dreyer’s lyrics & performance on this album is fucking relentlessly, almost agonizingly sad, and I love every single moment of it.
