Are we listening to the same versions as the critics?
'Purple' sounds so pristine in comparison to what is so far released to the public from 'Gold & Grey'.
Did anyone else notice this album no longer has the "Must Hear" designation that it once had? Is that designation's removal endemic of the people who were once hyped on this project; their huge excitement produces diminished appreciation with subsequent listens? How can opinions oscillate so quickly? Many other commenters call this VW's "Everything Now" album. FOTB is nowhere near as 'middle of the road' as that Arcade Fire album. Is this album flawed? Sure.
